| Mazarick11-13-03, 12:33 AM | ARCHER OF THE MOON The elf looked over the battlements sadly, noting the human and elven bodies mingled with the orcs. Soon, her tears gave in to rage. Her lover was still nowhere to be found, ever since his capture. She imagined him being tortured by the orcish warlord and his sons, and she imagined his face, determined not to show pain. "Curse him for a fool," she said, "the bastard should never have left us!" Again on the verge of tears, she left the battlements. She descended the spiral staircase and entered the courtyard, where she took a secret door out into a place of solitude. Due to fine Dwarven craftmanship, very few people knew of the door. Fewer still knew what was beyond: a thicket of rare trees that grow by moonlight. The only access to the moonlight was a window at the top of a long ramp. Outside viewers, however, could not see such a window, again due to fine craftsmanship. The elf maiden sat in a spot long familiar to her. She let her tears flow here, away from those that look to her for guidance. The moonlight played off of her tears, and she looked to it, seeing it as full as she ever had. She began to pray. She appeared on the battlements some time later. She was just in time to spot the advancement of the third raiding party that night. Her eyes seemed to glow as she reached for her bow and nocked an arrow. The moonlight played off the arrowhead as she drew her aim. She let it loose, and the arrow blasted into the orc, taking it from it's feet. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/dd_gallery/dd1/Corellon_p63.jpg Requirements BAB: 12 Feats Weapon Focus (composite longbow or composite shortbow or longbow or shortbow), Point Blank Shot, Far Shot Special: Must worship a deity of the moon. Game Rule Information Hit Dice d10 Base Attack Bonus Good Saves Good Fortitude and Reflex / Poor Will Class Skills As Ranger Skills Per Level 4 + int modifier Class Features It should be noted that many of these abilities only function in moonlight. That means when overcast, during the day, during a full moon (3 day period) or underground, these will not function. 1st level - Low-Light Vision, Moonfire 2nd level - Weapon Specialization 3rd Level - Moon Arrow I, See Through The Moon 4th Level - Moon Arrow II 5th Level - Moon Arrow III, Life of the Moon Low-Light Vision (Ex): Any creature without low-light vision gains it as an elf. Any creature that already has low-light vision gain's an additional 10' to it's radius. This stacks with all other feats. Any feat or ability that would double the radius, however, doesn't not count the 10' in the doubling. Instead, it adds it on afterwards. Not lost out of moonlight. Moonfire (Su): At will, the Archer of the Moon can allow her eyes to glow with a bluish light. At this time, she is also surrounded by an almost imperceptible blue aura. This grants her a +2 to intimidation checks. (Creatures with 1 hd or less have been known to wet themselves...or in some cases, the Archer). Doesn't function during a new moon, but works any other time. Weapon Specialization (ex): Gains the effect of the Weapon Specialization feat for any bow she already has weapon focus in. Not lost out of moonlight. Moon Arrow I (su): Under moonlight, any arrow fired by the Archer of the Moon gains the Keen ability, even if it is not a +1 weapon. Stacks with Moon Arrow II and III. Under the full moon, the arrow also gains a +1 enhancement bonus. See Through The Moon (ex): Under moonlight, the Archer of the Moon gains a +5 to spot checks. Moon Arrow II(su): Under moonlight, any arrow fired by the Archer of the Moon gains the Seeking ability, as detailed in Magic of Faerun pg 141, even if it is not a +1 weapon. Stacks with Moon Arrow I and III. Moon Arrow III(su): Under moonlight, any arrow fired by the Archer of the Moon gains the Knockback ability, as detailed in Magic of Faerun pg 140, even if it is not a +1 weapon. Stacks with Moon Arrow I and II. Life of the Moon(ex): Under moonlight, the Archer of the Moon regains a hit point every hour. Under the full moon, the Archer of the Moon regains one hit point per round. This can not regenerate body parts or hit points lost due to suffocation or starvation. |
