| Kujo der Zahn04-22-07, 05:38 PM | Hi, all! :D I've a friend who is running an elven cleric of the hunt. He has looked at the Order of the Bow Initiate as a PrC, but hates to give up several levels as a spellcaster since he is also the primary healer in his group. I was wondering if anyone has a divine archer PrC-type already or if you guys would mind critiquing the following concept. Obviously, it is based very closely on the OotBI. I was thinking that if Shadowbanes, Nightsongs, and Daggerspells could work as related but separate classes, why not another such pairing? So, without further ado, I present the Order of the Bow Accolyte: Requirements: BAB: +4 Skills: Craft (bowmaking) 5 ranks, Knowledge (Religion) 5 ranks Feats: Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Weapon Focus (some bow) Spells: ability to cast second-level divine spells Order of the Bow Accolyte LVL BAB F/R/W Special 1 +0 0/2/2 Ranged Precision +1d8 2 +1 0/3/3 +1 level of existing divine spellcasting class 3 +2 1/3/3 Close Combat Shot 4 +3 1/4/4 Ranged Precision +2d8, +1 level of existing divine spellcasting class 5 +3 1/4/4 Improved Skill Focus: Spot 6 +4 2/5/5 +1 level of existing divine spellcasting class 7 +5 2/5/5 Ranged Precision +3d8 8 +6 2/6/6 +1 level of existing divine spellcasting class 9 +6 3/6/6 Sharp-Shooting 10 +7 3/7/7 Ranged Precision +4d8, +1 level of existing divine spellcasting class Class Skills: Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (Religion)(Int), Ride (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis) Skill Points per Level: 2+ Int modifier Class Features: Weapon and Armor Proficiency: None gained. Spells per Day: At each even-numbered level, an Accolyte gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in a divine spellcasting class she belonged to before adding the prestige class. She gains no other benefit a character of that class would have gained (except an increase in caster level). If she had more than one qualifying spellcasting class, she must choose which class to add this to. Ranged Precision: As a standard action, an Accolyte may make a single precisely-aimed attack with a ranged weapon, dealing an extra xd8 points of damage if it hits. She must be within 30' of her target for this strike to work. It only works against living creatures with discernable anatomies. Anything immune to critical hits is also unaffected by Ranged Precision and anything that protects from critical hits (ie, fortification) also protects against Ranged Precision. Damage will stack with Sneak Attack damage but does not itself require the target to be flat-footed. It can only be used with a ranged weapon the Accolyte has Weapon Focus with. Close Combat Shot: At 3rd level, an Accolyte can attack with a ranged weapon while in a threatened square without provoking an attack of opportunity. Improved Skill Focus-Spot: An Accolyte gains the ability to improve her chances of seeing distant targets. This ability stacks with Skill Focus-Spot, otherwise it is identical to that feat. Sharp-Shooting: At 9th level, an Accolyte's target only receives a +2 bonus to Armor Class from cover instead of the customary +4. |
