| Osiris Memnoch04-06-05, 01:35 AM | I'm a big believer in the Fighter when it comes to archery. There are A LOT of archery based feats that no class other than Fighter can manage to get and combine. You're probably hoping for a class with a "close combat shot" like the Gun Slinger advanced class in d20 modern. I hate feats like that. What's the point of being the master of ranged combat if you can fight in close combat just as well? Sure, even if you have Mobility and Shot on the Run, a Monk is going to kick your ass, but who says you HAVE to use that Long Bow? Melee Fighters carry around ranged weapons so whats to stop you from carrying a greatsword around as a backup? It's not like your strength is going to suck; you'd still need to be able to pull that Mighty +6 Longbow don't you? You've probably go Quick Draw. It's not like you wouldn't have any extra feats to use on it. You'd probably want a PrC though. There's plenty of 'em out there for an archer type character ou there. |
