| Slad Chaos01-25-06, 05:25 PM | I asked me if to become an Ur-Priest, I must take the class Archivist or Spellthief. I search for the roleplay to become an ur-priest, what class must I take ? Of course, I must satisfy the requirement. If I have the spellthief class, could I become a ur-priest without other ur-priest ? The spellthief don't satisfy to obtain the PrC Ur-priest at the 6th level, must I take other class to obtain the Fortitude save base and the necessary skills? What class ? Archivist or an other ? Are there the feats to obtain the Knowledge skills as class skill ? If I take only the class Archivist, I don't have the Bluff Skill requirement. Are there a feat that permit to obtain this skill as a class-skill ? All these questions are to become then a fiend of blasphemy, and so to give spells the worshiper cleric without a Patron. Thanks for your future help. |
| Seeker of Undeath01-25-06, 08:17 PM | I asked myself "to become an Ur-Priest must I take the Archivist or Spellthief class? I searched for the better roleplay angle to approach an ur-priest. What class should I take ?Any that you like, but I recommend that it not be a divine caster. Ur-priest makes you lose your ability to cast divine spells from a previous class. That would make Archivist more than useless for you. Of course, I must satisfy the requirement. If I have the spellthief class, could I become a ur-priest without the other ur-priest?There is only one Ur-Priest. It's been reprinted a few times, but there's still only one. The current version is in Complete Divine. The spellthief doesn't satisfy the requirements for Ur-priest at 6th-level. Must I take another class to obtain the base Fortitude save and the necessary skills?Yes.What class?Any class is fine. Many people prefer Monk, but anything with a good fortitude save and some of the skills you need would be perfect.Archivist or another?Once again, since you'll lose your ability to cast divine spells from previous classes, Archivist is among the worst choices you could make. However, if you want to use it for roleplaying reasons, that's more than fine. Just be aware of what you're getting yourself into. Are there the feats to obtain the Knowledge skills as class skill? There is the Education feat. I've forgotten which book it's in, but it makes all knowledge skills permanently class skills. If I remember correctly you must take it at 1st-level, though. If I take only the class Archivist, I won't have the Bluff Skill requirement. Is there a feat that permit to obtain this skill as a class-skill?There isn't one that I can think of. However, I seem to remember that the number of ranks in Bluff isn't very high. You could easily just take it cross-class.I hope to become a fiend of blasphemy and to get spells without a Patron. That's a perfect reason for wanting to become an Ur-Priest. |
