Gemstone 04-26-07, 06:34 PM	I have a friend that claims that the archivist can learn spells at a lower level than the cleric list mentions them, thanks to the line The archivist can learn and thus prepare nonclerical divine spells in this fashion... So, if we take the spell Example spell which is a paladin spell at level 1, but a cleric spell at level 3, can an archivist prepare it as a level 1 spell if he finds a scroll that's made by a paladin?

The cleric isn't supposed to be able to cast some spells earlier because it would make them even more overpowered. This seem odd too me
DreamerInsane 04-26-07, 06:56 PM	The Archivist is a tad saner than the Cleric. And depending on the spell, the trick may not be too broken. Just watch out for Paladin/Ranger uniques. Those tend to have a very nice level/effect ratio.
MCage 04-26-07, 08:28 PM	The balance as far as i can understand is the archivist isnt as good at phisical combat as the cleric and it seems to me off the top of my head all the paladin/ranger spells that can be got before the cleric arnt as good for an archivist
