12-03-04, 11:18 PM Well, I'd say it's about the equivalent of *all* of the energy substitution feats, because you can pick any one at the time of casting. Plus it doesn't change the casting time for sorcerors, nor does it take a higher level slot. minimum, 3-4 feats worth. :)

12-04-04, 12:46 PM i think so. mastery of elements is just that, mastery of elements. it doesn't really matter what class you're.

12-04-04, 01:44 PM The Archmage's Mastery of Elements ability allows you to, for the cost of an 8th level spell slot, change any spell's energy type as you begin casting it, with no increased casting time. So a fireball suddenly becomes Iceball. The nearest equivalent would be one of the sudden metamagic feats. Like Sudden Energy Substitution, except useable an infinite number of times a day. Very useful for those times a DM throws a fire immune creature at you, disguised as a Cold subtype creature.
