Are druids shapechangers? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-27-05, 01:47 AM The Player's Handbook does not state whether druids are considered shapechangers or not. With the super natural ability to change their shape (as polymorph) into any animal, I would suspect that druids are shapechangers. Especially when they reach 11th (I believe), they gain the super natural ability, A Thousand Faces, to turn into any humanoid (via alter self).

So even though it does not state that the druid's have the subtype (shapechangers), would they be considered as such for the purpose of specific effects? Such as silvered mace of shapechanger's bane?

My initial thought, would be yes, but I would like to get some other opinions.

Yes they technically can change shape, but no they never gain the shapechanger subtype and the benefits thereof.
