Definitely definitely definitely no more than 1 good save, if at all. Mind you that most of the fighter feats are too "general" feats. Therefore, I'd say guild expert outshines fighters by far. Personally, I have no idea what is armored expert. What is armored expert's function in society since it is an NPC class..? |

The guild expert would still have smaller hitdie. Armored expert is the armor/weaponsmith who practices with the weapons he smiths, and cracks your head when you try to rob him. You don't need "ALL" the proficiencies a fighter has tho. And beyond 3-4 lvls, the guild expert has still twice the number of feats than fighter which more than make up the difference between d8 and d10. Not to mention the expert has 3 good saves vs fighter's fort only. Good with hammering out weapon and armor does not equate to being good with hammering ppl's brains. And why would they be illiterate? Even then, that does not warrant a d12 |

I could compare the armored expert to Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean.(Sparrow is mentioned in Complete Scoundrel, so I can do that.) He smithed swords then practiced with them. Illiteracy? Who's sending the apprentice to school anyway? What?!?! Feats from fighter bonus feat list are NOT fighter only. They are just a llist that fighter can choose from for their class bonus feats (as opposed to character lvl bonus feats every 3 lvls). The only FEW fighter only feats I can think of are weapon specialization chains which specifically has prerequisites of fighter lvl x. Illiteracy isn't automatic. By your argument, who is sending a fighter-to-be to school to learn how to read either? But fighters don't automatically gain illiteracy now, do they? |
