Artificer, Practiced Spellcaster, and Spellsword [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-07-06, 09:54 PM Alright, I'm playing a 4th level fighter that due to increasingly obvious IC interest in magic and technology will be taking at minimum three levels of Artificer next.

At Fighter 4/Artificer 2, I will take Practiced Spellcaster. I know this will give him a caster level of 6, but will it also work with the Item Creation ability granting him the ability to craft items as an 8th level spell caster?

Spellsword requires the ability to cast 2nd level Arcane spells, but could the Artificer Infusions count? Or perhaps that they can create items that require the ability to cast 2nd level Arcane spells?

Final build depending on these comments will be either Fighter 4/Artificer 16 or Fighter 4/Artificer 3/Spellsword 1/Artificer 12.

Any thoughts, even suggested houserules or screams of "TEH BR0K3N!!11!" would be greatly appreciated.

Let's see, no, not playing a Warforged. Playing a Human, which is the best thing in the world for multi-classing. Though this class combo would work insanely well for a warforged... I'll have to think about that in the future.

Now, as a DM, would you allow this combo of Fighter 4/Artificer 3/Spellsword 1? Assuming that by RAW Infusions are not Arcane spells.
