I just started a campaign with my level 2 wizard. Because I had some extra skill points I have 5 ranks in craft (Painting). I thought I could do the whole “artist” concept with my wizard.

So my question is… does any one have any ideas on how to make my wizard an artist? Ideas for spells, prestige classes, or role playing tips would be great thank you.

Painting and sculpture are weird skills, I'm not sure if it's best classified as craft or perform?

Anyways magic is a great medium for artistic endeavors. Illusions are them most creative of the schools. Enchantments can create drama. Transmutations can be used for sculpture, medusa rock garden anyone? Evocations can create more primal abtractions.

Illusion contests in complete arcane include a scuplture/painting check. You can also use permancy once you get it to make incredible paintings ala Harry potter.

An illusionist with perform skill can put on quite a show in the town square too.
