One of the PC's in my campaign (an evil one) wants to play an assassin, but wants to switch out the bonuses for saving against poison for something else and I thought I'd turn to the boards for some ideas. As it stands, the assassin gets a +1 cumulative bonus against poison every other level starting at 2nd. The player's argument is that the prestige class gets poison use at 1st level and never has to worry about poisoning themselves. There is another rogue in the party who handles traps and such, so the player would like an equatable bonus/ability/whatever in place of the saves against poison. Any thoughts?

It depends on what is he going to trade for. Some class abilities are somewhat weak for both flavor and balance reasons. It's obvious that the designers of the assassin didn't thought the character would be targeted by poison everytime.

That's exactly what I'm asking of this group - ideas of something fair that could be switched in place of the saves vs. poison bonus. I was thinking of +1 bonuses to hide or move silently or +1 bonuses to craft (poison making).
