lets say you are dervish dancing and move 5ft and make and attack then move another 5ft then 15ft. which attack will qualify for skirmish? does improved skirmish work the same way? i thought i remembered a thread where this was in dispute. i just want to be sure since im starting a new campaign in a few days. thanks

By RAW you can break causality with skirmish by gaining its benefit while attacking first and moving afterwards.

By RAW you therefore gain skirmish benefits on all of the attacks.

However, It's commonly house ruled that you gain its benefits only after actually having moved 10' in the round, or the 2nd and 3rd attacks in your scenario.

The house rule above lets you avoid many difficult scenarios where the skirmisher was unexpectedly prevented from completing its movement, and enemies need to be retroactively refunded hp and possibly even brought back to life. More fun ensues if, among other things, the skirmisher is now occupying an illegal position because it moved into the same square as the then-corpse of the enemy. Yes, you can just put the skirmisher back in its previous square, but does the never-really-was-dead enemy get an AoO for the skirmisher entering its square? etc.

You get the picture.
