| sophocles01-19-06, 12:51 PM | Hi all. Just looking for confirmation on attacks per round.... i have a character that's ecl is 6 .. ftr 4 rog 2 the fighter would have had 2 attacks per round... if i kept the fighter progression.... the rogue would not.. is there a chart that matches the ECL w/ attacks per round... or is it whenever i take a level in a class or prc that would grant another attack...then i get a second or subsequent attack... the reason that i ask is that nearly all characters i see have 4 attack at level 20th... because of my class selection.. i don't see how i would end up w/ 4 attacks... thanks for the help |
| TheWinterBard01-19-06, 01:17 PM | You add the BAB for both classes... thus +4 for fighter, +1 for rogue, +5 total. No two attacks yet. By twentieth you may or may not have the +16 necessary for four attacks, depending on your combo of classes. |
| PEBKAC01-19-06, 01:29 PM | Easy way to figure your BAB and multiple attacks: Add the BAB from each core class together. Add the BAB bonus listed on the chart for each prestige class you have. Take that number and subtract 5. If greater then zero, then you get an additional attack at that BAB. Take the additional attack if you get one, and subtract 5 from it. If this number is greater than zero, then you get another additional attack at that BAB. Continue subtract 5 from your additional attack's BAB until the result is negative. Once the number is negative, then you no longer receive additional attacks. Thus for your example of Fighter6/Rogue2 your BAB is: Fighter 4=4 Rogue 2=1 Total=5 So first attack at +5 BAB 5-5=0 Since 0 is not greater than 0, no additional attacks. Thus your BAB would look like this: +5 To get 4 attacks per round your total BAB only need to be +16. 16-5=11 11-5=6 6-5=1 Now, once you Character Level is greater than 20, the rules change to Epic and you get no more additional attacks than you had at 20, regardless of how high your BAB goes. |

| ShinAkuma201-19-06, 02:18 PM | You can also compare your total BAB to the BAB chart of a Fighter (or other full BAB class). Whatever your max BAB is, the rest of your attacks looks like a Fighter's at that level. |
