I believe most but not all would agree that non-primary casters (fighter, pally, ranger, barbarian, rogue) are way less powerful than primary casters (casters with 9th level spells .. Wiz, Sor, Cleric Druid). So I am sharing what I intend to implement in my campiagn to close up the gap.

I understand there are many variants out there. So here is mine, to share and discuss.

In this thread, I am only interested in core classes in PHB and limit to 20 level. I do want to avoid feats except for the few mentioned below to boost fighter's damage to match casters at high level.

My current (not finale) fixes are:

For all classes:
Cross class skill rank cap at character level instead of half of class skill. (if you think yr fighter should have spot, just invest it. )

Weapon Focus
* change bonus to +1, +2 at level 10th and +3 at level 20.
I believe this would make combat class stronger and its also make it more worthwhile for caster to take it.
(as a variant, can make it only available to fighter and bonus only increase with fighter level)

Fighter
* change to 1 bonus feat per level (for versatility)
(Although most believe fighters should have his own favor, I want fighter to be generic so that it can be mould to meet most players' need.
I believe that most non-casters prcs should be able to implement by fighter with the right feats.)

Weapon spec
* change dmg to +1, +1/4 fighter level.
i.e. +2 at level 4, +3 at level 8 ... +6 at level 20

Greater weapon focus
* change bonus to +2, +1/5 fighter level
i.e. +4 at level 12, +5 at 15th, +6 at 20th

Greater Weapon spec
* change dmg to +2, +1/2 level. +8 at 12th and +12 at 20th

Barbarian
* +1 con and +1 str per 5 level
(stat bonus, similar to inherent bonus. I call them barbarian bonus for now so that they can stack. Barbarian should be strong and tough, even when not raging)
* (edit) +5' movement/5level
(if monk train in monastry, barbarian train by running after food!! sigh.. no hide and move silent to hunt..)
* rage dmg bonus.. +1/2 barbarian level
(still the top damage dealer in combat)

Ranger
* Ambush.. Ranger deal double favoured enemy bonus when his opponents are denied of dex bonus. (no flanking for now)
(edit) (alternative - also +2 to hit when opponent deny dex bonus. also a flat +2 dmg vs non-flavored enemy)

* Ranger start with 4 favoured enemy at level 1 and progress as in PHB.
(I would prefer to call them creature familarity\knowledge instead of favoured enemy)
* alternative - Ranger have the following as favored enemy plus one of player choice at level 1 - Animal, Fey, Giant, (5 humanoid ?!?) Magical beast, plant?

* Hide in plain sight - as in PHB except.. Hide in plain sight provoke AOO. Hide fail if any damage is taken.

Paladin
* no fix yet, maybe 1 divine feat at level 5, 10, 15, 20

Bard
* need to fix? I have no idea at all
(please don start a debate on this!! Some brief suggestions are welcome)

Rogue
* level ?? - Evade combat.. When not attacking, a rogue can spend a standard action to bluff. Those who fail the oppose roll cannot attack the rogue in melee
(he sort of manevour and feint out of reach)

* level 13th - Blend in shadow (like Ranger Camo skill but need shadow)

* level 17th - Hide in plain sight

Please offer comment/suggestion and the rationale..
Please do not argue who is right and make this thread lengthy.

All constructive inputs are welcomed.

Thanks in advance!
