AWOL: Complete series starting wealth. [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-15-06, 02:23 AM I know I've asked this before, but the thread must have been deleted by now, as it was probably about a year ago. I noticed only Complete Adventurer gives starting gold for its base classes, and the Wujen class in Complete Arcane lacks even a starting package to try a sort of trade-back. The respective errata downloads don't cover this either. Could we possibly get an official answer to this?

The classes would feel more complete, as it were, if we knew for certain what they start with.

01-21-06, 03:05 PM Wu Jen has Wizard/Sorcerer BAB so I would start one with the same gold, 3d4. As long as its about that ammount I can't see a problem.

01-21-06, 03:21 PM True. I'll probably never have a player make a 1st level wujen in my game, though. I would just really like an official answer. I've e-mailed customer service finally (something I'm kicking my own ass for not thinking about). Not all classes that have the same BAB have the same wealth, however. Granted, fighters, rangers and paladins also do, but BAB isn't a good idea to go on alone.

I'm just venting over the development team. I mean, this is why they put out the errata downloads and such.

Probably the best counter for your suggestion would be that the wujen, is in fact, not a sorcerer nor a wizard. But thanks for it none the less. Also, it could be argued that a scout and rogue have the same BAB and similar abilities, but different starting gold. It's close, so it'd still work. Wujen may have a smaller amount of gold, like a monk, reflecting their hermit-like nature.

01-21-06, 05:27 PM The e-mail's been sent. I was being ridiculous thinking I'd get somewhere on the message boards. Lol. I could have sent the e-mail when I first got the books last year, solved the issue, and moved on. Instead, I shelved it and said "maybe later."

I'm going to leave this thread up and post the info when they get back to me.

01-21-06, 06:03 PM This subject has been brought up a lot of times. The best answer anyone can give you is to use common sense. Think of mechanics as much as concept, and you'll probably be OK.

And as I've stated, I'm waiting for a response to my e-mail from the develoment team. I'm sure they could take a second to go over their notes and correct the mistake for the rest of us.

If anyone knows how to delete a thread, I think I may do that soon, since this is going nowhere, and all I'm getting is peoples' two cents. We all know the ways we could approximate the rules. So please, unless it's how to delete a thread, let this thread die.
