In almost every city there is a bar or tavern where the light of heart fear to tread, where the rooms are kept dim even in the middle of the day, and you are as likely to find a fight as you are food and drink. This is home to the Azain, the thunder fist. The Azain are a group of unarmed brawlers who devloped the ability to brawl into an artform . Each Azain’s style of brawling his unique. While one may dance around there enemy slow tearing apart there enemy with taunts and punches another with sit there absorbing every punch thrown at him and return the favor ten fold.They enjoy pain almost as they like delivering it. Whether it is using his skills as a thug, a bouncer, or simply as a hired fighter, rest asure the Azain will be there were the fight is. Humans and half-orc are most likely to be Azain, though many dwarves also follow the path. In Fighters and rogues are most likely drawn into the chaotic lifestyle of the Azain, although barbarians are as likely to follow this path if they become drawn to the city life. Bards too, are known to become Azains as performing at inns and taverns often puts them in the thick of barroom brawls. Requirements To qualify to become a Azain, a character must fulfill all the following criteria. Alignment: Any non-lawful. BAB: +5. Skills: Intimidate 8. Feats: Improved Unarmed Strike, Stunning Fist, Power Attack, Toughness, and Weapon Focus (Unarmed Strike). Game Rule Information Azains have the following game statistics. Base Attack Bonus: Good Hit Die: d8 Saves: Good Fortitude Class Skills: The Azain’s class skills are Balance (Dex), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), and Tumble (Wis). Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + Intelligence modifier. Class Features All of the following are class features of the Azain prestige class. Weapons and Armor Proficiency: Azains gain no additional proficiency with any weapons or armor. 1 Power of the Punch, Azain Mastery 2 Azain Technique, Twin Hammer 3 Azain Mastery 4 Azain Technique 5 Power of the Punch, Haymaker, Azain Mastery(2nd) 6 Azain Technique 7 Combo! Azain Mastery 8 Azain Technique, Haymaker 9 Iron Jaw, Azain Mastery (3rd) 10 Power of the Punch, Azain Technique, Way of the Fist Power of the Punch [1st/5th/10th level] At first level the azains unarmed damage is increased to 1d4. At fifth level increase the natural critical range of the azains unarmed attacks by one. At 10th level increase the azains critical hit multiplier by one. Mastery [1st/3rd/5th/7th/9th level] Accurate Strike 1 You gain a +1 to melee attacks Accurate Strike 2 You gain a +1 to melee attacks Accurate Strike 3 You may designate one attack each as a Perfect Strike. It deals full damage. Dirty Tricks 1 Deal +1d4 of sneak attack damage Dirty Tricks 2 Deal +1d4 of sneak attack damage Dirty Tricks 3 Deal plus 1 point of damage per sneak attack die Dodge Mastery 1 +1 dodge bonus Dodge Mastery 2 +1 dodge bonus Dodge Mastery 3 Increase Dex bonus to AC by 1.5 Hard Strike 1 +2 to unarmed damage rolls Hard Strike 2 +2 to unarmed damage rolls Hard Strike 3 Increase unarmed damage as if you were one size larger. Azain Technique [2nd/4th/6th/8th/10th level] On achieving 2nd level and every 2 levels thereafter (4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th), a Azain learns a Azain Technique of her choice from among the following: Bruiser You are stronger than most, having developed big muscles and powerful arms. Prerequisites: Str 13+, PowerAttack, base attack bonus +3 or higher. Benefit: By sacrificing your Strength bonus to your attack roll, you may increases your Strength bonus on your damage roll by half. This feat may only be used in conjunction with unarmed strikes. Roll with the Punches By spinning your body and twisting away from an enemy's blow, you can avoid a portion of the damage. Prerequisites: Dex 15+, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Mobility. Benefit: Whenever you take damage, make a Reflex save (DC equal to 10 + the damage dealt). Reduce the damage by 1 point per die of damage from the attack. Extreme Conditioning Through constant conditioning, your body has become harder, stronger and tougher. Prerequisites: Toughness, Die Hard, and Endurance Benefits: Gain a +1 Shield bonus from Con bonus per 2 Azain levels Abs of Steel Hitting you is like hitting a brick wall. You literally have abs of steel. Prerequisites: Extreme Conditioning Benefits: You can add two more points from your Con bonus to your AC. Strength of Atlas. Few can touch your raw power. Prerequisites: Bruiser Benefits: You can add your Con bonus as a bonus on Str check and your carrying capacity. First Blood Strike first, and ask questions later. Benefits: You gain a +4 competence bonus to your attack roll when you attack a flat-footed opponent in melee. Heavy Fist The azain's fist can soon wearout even the strongest of oppenets. Benefits: The azain's unarmed attacks deal an extra +2 nonlethal damage, even when the azain strikes to deal lethal damage. Banter You have mastered the art of "witty" (read: annoying) repartee in combat. This serves to both annoy and distract your opponents. Prerequisites: Perform 5 ranks, Bluff 5 ranks Benefits: You gain a +1 dodge bonus to your AC against melee attacks per 2 Azain levels from your Cha bonus. Any circumstance which causes you to lose your Dex bonus to AC also causes you to lose this bonus. Talk the Talk You have pushes your ability to annoy your enemy. Prerequisites: Banter Benefits: You can add two more points from your Cha bonus to your AC. Jab The jab is a fast punch that is exremely hard to block that is often used to set-up a more dangerest attack or combination. Benefits:A jab only deals half of the Azain's str bonus to damage but adds both there dex and str bonuses to hit. You can not use it with power attack. Combo: The jab hits twice per attack. Special: can be selected more than once for each extra time it allows them an extra use of the punch per round. Elbow Smash You can drive your elbow into your target with all your weight behind it for a devastating attack Benefits:An Elbow smash deals unarmed damage as if the Azain were one size catagorgy larger Combo: The Elbow deals a point of temp con damage. Hook The Hook is a fast, powerful swing that has ended many fights. By pivoting your hips while swinging your fist, you gain extra force. Benefits:The hook deals X1.5 str bonus on unarmed damage rolls. Combo: +1 to natural crit range Special: can be selected more than once for each extra time it allows them an extra use of the punch per round. Also if they have the Bruiser tech increase damage to double their str bonus Bodyblow You can attack your target's midsection repeatedly gradually tiring them out. Benefit:Every time you land a body blow oppenont must make a fort save (10+1/4 of the damge suffered) or suffer -1 dodge pentalty of 5 rounds. Combo: Body blow deals a point of temp dex damage Special: can be selected more than once for each extra time it allows them an extra use of the punch per round Uppercut By bringing your fist up directly under the chin of your opponent, snapping his head back with the blow, you can often fell a formidable opponent in one swift, unexpected punch. Benefit:Sacrafice an attack gain 1/2 bonus to hit and damage. Combo: Increase unarmed multiplier by one Twin Hammer (Ex) The gain full Str bonus to there off-handed attacks Haymaker (Ex) [5th/8th level] At fifth level the Strom Fist learns how better focus the power behind there blows. One blow in any round that you use the power attack feat is treated as a two-handed weapon. At 8th level the azain can now throw two haymakers in a round. Combo! You learn how to combo your Azain technique with your Haymaker with explosive results Iron Jaw (Ex) The Azain of this level can take a beating that would drop weaker men. Any time the Azain suffer bludgeoning damage they reduce it by there Con bonus. Way of the Fist You can now select Azain Techniques as bonus feats. |
