Sorry for the question if it's been answered again and again, but:

What happens to the BAB count when you have a PC with a BAB of +5 and then they take a prestige class? The BAB count starts off at "0" again, and counts back up, but may not get to the multiple attacks per round stage of +6/+1. Is there a general rule that once a PC gets +6, they also get an additional attack according to the original class?

Otherwise, I'm looking at a prestige class'ed PC that has only one +13 attack at 18th Level overall. And what happens if I go back to the original class and the next level BAB is +10/+5? Does my +13 become a +14/+5? This prestige class does let me gain levels in the original class, but not the BAB, Saves, etc.

As you know, the base attack bonuses stack from all your classes. When this BAB reaches +6 (from any combination) they get an extra attack.

From the 3.5e SRD ( http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/classes.html ) under Multiclassing:

"Base Attack Bonus: Add the base attack bonuses acquired for each class to get the character’s base attack bonus. A resulting value of +6 or higher provides the character with multiple attacks."

Determine your extra attacks based off your first (highest) BAB.
Let's take a level 5 Fighter, with a BAB of +5. He multiclasses into Cleric. As a 5 fighter/1 cleric he has one attack at a BAB of +5. He takes another level of cleric, he now has attacks at +6/+1. Let's say he adds on five more levels of fighter (making him a level 10 fighter/ level 2 cleric). He now has attacks at +11/+6/+1

So a character with +14 as his BAB (as in your question) would have attacks at:
+14/+9/+4
