when i was looking at BABs i started wondering what happens with full attacks with prestige classes, does someone who went into a prestige class at like level 5 just not get a full attack until they get it through a base class or do BABs for multiclassing translate into full attacks?

When your highest total BAB becomes 6, you always get a 2nd attack.
When your highest total BAB becomes 11, you always get a 3rd attack.
When your highest total BAB becomes 16, you always get a 4th attack.
It doesn't matter how you got it, whether it be through other classes or Divine Power, or something else.

Of course they do. The rules specifically state that whenever you can subtract 5 from the BAB and get a positive number over zero, you get a second attack at that rate. Meaning whenever any combination of base and/or prestige classes bring your BAB to 6, you get +6/+1, and over 11, you get +11/+6/+1 etc.

The differentiated presentation is just for your convenience ;)

Hope I could help

Edit: Whoops, beaten to it by mere seconds. Grudgingly assuming 2nd place. ;)
