Bahamut, Lord of the Dragons and master of the winds. His devoted are persecuted by the myriad numbers of evil dragons and dragon-kin, yet they uphold all that is just and pure. Among his worshippers, a select few are chosen to become his champions, these beings are known as Bahamut’s Tempest.

Level BAB Fort Ref Will Special
1 +1 +2 +0 +0 Aura of Courage, Domain Access
2 +2 +3 +0 +0 Draconic Grace, Smite Evil
3 +3 +3 +1 +1 Aura of Fear, Bonus Feat
4 +4 +4 +1 +1 Draconic Stature
5 +5 +4 +1 +1 Enhanced Claws (+1)
6 +6 +5 +2 +2 Bonus Feat
7 +7 +5 +2 +2 Bonus Feat
8 +8 +6 +2 +2 Enhanced Claws (Keen)
9 +9 +6 +3 +3 Bonus Feat
10 +10 +7 +3 +3 Bahamut's Might
Aura of Courage (Ex): Bahamut’s Tempest is immune to fear (magical or otherwise). Allies within 10 feet of the Tempest gain a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects. Granting the morale bonus to allies is a supernatural ability.

Domain Access (Su): Bahamut’s Tempest gains access to one of Bahamut’s domains. This is separate from any domain access gained as a cleric; instead at first level the Tempest gains the granted power from the domain. At each additional level, he gains access to cast the next level domain spell once per day. At second level, the Tempest can cast the 1st level domain spell once a day, at third he can cast the 2nd level domain spell once a day, and so on until tenth level he has access to cast all the domain spells once a day each.

Draconic Grace (Su): Bahamut’s Tempest gains a bonus to all saving throws equal to his Charisma modifier. This ability does not stack with the paladin's Divine Grace ability.

Aura of Fear (Sp): All evil beings that come within 30’ of Bahamut’s Tempest must succeed a Will saving throw (DC 10 + ½ level + Charisma modifier) or be affected as per the Fear spell (as if cast by a sorcerer of the Tempest’s character level).

Smite Evil (Su): Once per day, Bahamut’s Tempests of 2nd level or higher may attempt to smite evil with one normal melee attack. He adds his Charisma modifier (if positive) to the attack roll and deals 1 extra point of damage per level. If he accidentally smites a creature that is not evil, the smite has no effect but it is still used up for that day.

Draconic Stature (Ex): Bahamut’s Tempest grows one size category (to a maximum of Large), and gains wings. He gains a Fly speed of 60 feet, and a maneuverability rating of Good. If he already is Large or larger, or has wings with a better speed and maneuverability rating, the Tempest gains nothing from this ability. Note that any permanent change in the character's size (such as from this ability) always includes the associated ability score adjustments; bonuses and/or penalties to Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Natural Armor Class, and such.

Bonus Feat (Ex): Bahamut’s Tempest gains a bonus feat which must be selected from the following list: Extra Smite, Flyby Attack, Hover, Snatch, Wingover, Weapon Finesse (Claws), Weapon Focus (Claws)

Enhanced Claws (Ex): Fifth level Bahamut’s Tempest gains the favor of Bahamut, and is blessed with claws that are now considered +1 weapons in all respects (bypassing damage reduction, attack rolls, damage rolls, et al.) At 8th level, this bonus increases to become +1, Keen claws.

Bahamut's Might (Su): Once per day, Bahamut’s Tempest can call upon the might of Bahamut himself to aid in the fight against evil. For a number of rounds equal to his class level, he becomes an Ancient Celestial Silver Dragon. A full round is required for the transformation, as is adequate space for his new bulk.

Epic Tempests: At 11th level, the Tempest’s claws increase to +2 weapons, and each additional 3 levels (14th, 17th, 20th) increases by one more, to a maximum of +5 weapons at 20th. At 12th and every three levels thereafter (15th, 18th, 21st, 24th, …) Bahamut’s Tempest may select an Epic* feat. At 15th and every 5 levels thereafter, the Tempest may invoke Bahamut's Might for one additional round per level (2 rounds/level at 15th, 3 rounds/level at 20th, etc.).

*If taking levels 11+ in this class before character level 21, all listed bonuses remain as described, except only normal feats are gained at 12th and every 3 levels thereafter, as Epic feats are not available until character level 21+.

I would exchange the whole enlargement abilities. They only create confusion if you get the ability increases or not. For example change Draconic Might into a dragon polymorph.

i think the Draconic Might ability is fine, cause if you polymorph, you're unbeatable... or you might be...

Considering was other other PRCs can do at lvl 10 1 minute dragon polymorph a day isn't overpowered. A wizard can do that anyway with polymorph at this level.

i like most of it, but i agree about it being confusing of whether or not you gain the bonuses for the size increase when you change size. i would also have will bea good save also. something like that shouldnt have a low will save.

however, it seems to have a very easy set of prereqs for it. BAB of 6, wowee, lvl 6 paladin can do that. servent of bahamut....very simple. draconic heritage....other prcs have race limitations too. LG goes with bein a paladin.

i think there needs to be some kind of skl of feat requirement on it, other than that, its pretty good.

Okay, I am making a few changes now based on feedback from here and other sources. :) Skill requirement is not a bad idea; which brings to light the fact I failed to put in any skill information for the class. That will be fixed here in a moment as well.

Alright - instead of just gaining bonuses to his physical stats, he now becomes an ancient celestial silver dragon. I was going to make it a Wyrm or Great Wyrm, since Bahamut is a Great Wyrm, but I think that would not be balanced - even Ancient is a bit powerful. I also thought to make the age category dependant on size, level , etc.; but to make anohter calculation would just feel clunky - so I decided to go with Ancient.

I can post the stats for an Ancient Celestial Silver Dragon, but since that can easily be found in the Monster Manual I (75/76 for silver dragon, 211 for celestial template) I think I will not waste the time and energy to copy that over.

Ancient Celestial might be a bit too powerful considering the rather low prerequisits for the PRC.

Imo Adult is more balanced.

Making it Dragon Disciple Only... then the class could only be taken when its fully grown DD (lvl 10)/Sorcerer (lvl 5)

then when hes able to use the ability he would be lvl 25... doesnt that sound fair with ancient celestial?

How does this sound - Using the CR in the Monster Manual, balanced against character level...

Celestial (+1 if 4-7HD, +2 if 8HD or more)

Silver Dragon by age:Wyrmling 7HD CR3(+1); 4
Very Young 10HD CR4(+2); 6
Young 13HD CR6(+2); 8
Juvenile 16HD CR9(+2); 11
Young Adult 19HD CR12(+2); 14
Adult 22HD CR14(+2); 16
Mature Adult 25HD CR17(+2); 19
Old 28HD CR19(+2); 21
Very Old 31HD CR20(+2); 22
Ancient 34HD CR22(+2); 24
Wyrm 37HD CR23(+2); 25
Great Wyrm 40HD CR25(+2); 27So - if your character level is 16 (the earliest I could see anyone attaining this ability, though I doubt it would be that early very often) you would be an Adult Celestial Silver Dragon. If your character level is 19, you are a Mature Adult Celestial Silver Dragon. And so forth - character level 21 = Old, 22 = Very Old, 24 = Ancient, 25 = Wyrm, and 27+ = Great Wyrm.

I think that is fair for a polymorph of a few rounds.

I find this more confusing than the other though :S

I like Bahamut's Might better then...

I've lost several of my old classes, and so am :bump:ing all the ones left to prevent a similar fate. For those who have emailed me about missing posts, I'll be reposting the ones I lost as soon as possible.
