I'm playing a ninja who's going to take the Assassin prestige class. Would it be balanced to give up assassin spells in exchange for having Assassin levels stack with Ninja levels for determining you Ki pool and Ki abilities?

I'd think that's fine or reducing the assassin sneak attack to sudden strike

I see no problem with reducing sneak attack to sudden strike. My goal was to be a ninja with Death Attack and the rest of the abilities are either a) extraneous, such as poison use or b) just part of what I get normally, like sneak attack (which is noticably better than sudden strike.)

Actually, you'd get more mileage and better use out of the Assassin spells than you would from extra uses of ki power. You'd be nerfing your character quite a bit imho.

I know, I just don't want a spell using character, I want something much more "mundane." (Okay, I know Ki isn't mundane, but I just don't want spells as much.)
