Balancing Favoured Soul(3.5) and Windwalker(3.0) [Archive] - Wizards Community

I've got a player who wants to take her Favoured Soul[Shaundaukul] into the path of the (Prc) Windwalker (FR - Faiths and Pantheons).
Besides the 3.0 to 3.5 conversion, what is bugging me is the Domain[Travel & Air] Spontaneous Casting feature of the Windwalker given that the Favoured Soul is already a spontaneous caster so, what do I do about the domain spells?

Do I let her add the domain spells to her spells known list? As former but restrict to once a day for each spell lv?

Other?

01-08-07, 08:08 PM Well, the Favored Soul as written is one of the weaker classes in 3.5. If I were a DM, I wouldn't see a game balance problem with your suggestion. I also wouldn't restrict her to once a day. Let her just add them as spells known. The power increase shouldn't be significant enough to harm anything. As an alternative if you are concerned about power creep, giver her the granted powers of the domains and let her choose any non-cleric spells that are in those domains as spells known.

01-09-07, 12:09 AM Give the power of the domain and the spells but keep the spells at 1/day. I've made a Favored Soul that has domains so check it out and hopefully it might give you some ideas. Hope I helped. Peace.

01-09-07, 10:43 AM The rules for added domains gained via a PrC in the Complete Divine state that spontaneous casters add the domain spells to their spell list, but still need to take them as spells known. However, once they do so, they may use them any number of times per day (note that this is different than how the Arcane Disciple feat works). The relavent text is at the front of the chapter on prestige classes.
