| flavored_soda12-14-03, 12:29 AM | First, an apology. This is yet another attempt to alter the Ranger. I know, I know, everyone does it even though the class is fine as it is. The only reason I'm doing this is because I don't see rangers as spell casters of any sort. I'm sorry! So anyway. I was wondering what I should do to balance the ranger if I took away his spell casting abilities. I would give him an animal companion (probably at 5th level, the soonest he could get it anyway) just like the druid's. I would rather not just give bonus feats. It's too.. cliche? A cheap fix. Sort of thing. Though it would be nice to know how many bonus feats you'd give, if you gave them (so that I can try to figure out close to how many special abilities to give). One thing I thought of doing was giving the ranger access to BOTH trees of fighting styles. At levelX he starts one of the trees, a couple levels later he starts the other, then they progress seperately (I don't actually play 3.5, so I don't know at what levels he gets what). Any other ideas? |
