| Kitsunefoxrunner04-04-08, 11:43 PM | Ive got a friend who is haveing a terible time finding decent feats for his Barbarian. He is using the Berzerkers strenght variant from PHBII, and does not know what to do for feats. Nor does he have any idea as to what to do for PrC's for his character. Any help would be apreciated by him (and me since he would stop complaining about it). |
| serow_#R04-04-08, 11:55 PM | I find the PHB2 Berserker variant discourages prestige classing, because the HP limit for activating Berserker is keyed to BARBARIAN levels only. |

A level 20 barbarian (no PrCs, as that makes it worse) needs to be at 100 hp or less. The average level 20 barbarian will get down to 300 hp by the time the fight is over. You didn't even get to use the class feature that holds no benefits over rage anyway. If you only have 5 levels of the class at level 20, you need to be at 25 hp or less. And 5 or 6 is where you usually PrC at. |

But yeah, that variant seems fairly weak. At low lvs, a barb with extra rage is easily on par in terms of number of uses, and at higher lvs, you will likely have more uses of rage than encounters/day anyways, so at-will isn't as attractive as it looks. Hope this thread (http://forums.gleemax.com/wotc_archive/index.php/t-644139) can be of some help. |
