Just give me your thoughts of whether or not it is balanced for a Barbian to Lose DR........

But Gain Naturaly Armor bonus = to his constituion Modifier...Max Half his lvl.

So lvl 10 Barb with 18 con has +4 nat ac...and No DR

So better AC but when hit, he takes the full amount?
Why the Level lmit?

I actually like that idea. I would much rather have the AC boosy than the DR. And yeah, I don't think there should be the level limit. Seems fine without it.....

Why not make the NA scale at the same rate as the DR does??

Ie, NA 1 when the Bard would have gotten DR 1/-, NA 2 when he would have gotten DR 2/-, and so on...

I don't know whether this person specifically meant this, but make a natural armor bonus that also stacks with any preexisting natural armor bonus (you know, so catfolk, centaurs, minotaurs, and feral garguns don't get screwed).

making it stack would just open the door to it being broken.
I also agree that it should scale like the NA does.
But it takes something flavorwise from the class - everyone else has armor, they get damage resistance though. Its a different feel.

I think it stacks in most cases anyway (i.e. through races and templates). I agree it could work (at least, a lot of barbarian PrCs already give a NA progression), although I'm not sure if DR isn't slightly better than NA. Half the barb's level sounds okay, but would it change with rage?

That's an interesting side effect. His AC either stays the same or goes up while raging, depending on his level.

You might want to consider increasing the rage penalty to compensate. It would probably be fine if his ac didn't decrease, but I would say its probably not good if it increases.

If you tried to do this, I would probably use another variant (this time of rage) that doesn't penalize your AC. I don't think Resiliant Rage does.

Actually, the character would probably want to take a variant rage feature anyway. Resiliant Rage seems perfect, as it gets a bonus to both Dex and Con, and even some limited DR. You could make this feature part of that class variant.
