Need some help here. My friends and I are gonna campaign soon, and I need a new character. I have some classes that I want to be, but I can't choose. I want to be....

1. A fighter-Half orc or Dwarf

2. A barbarian-Half orc, Dwarf or human

3. A Bard- halfling, human or hengeyokai

Which class/race combo should I be? I need to know what would work best together.

I'd be inclined towards dwarf/human. No reason you cant take both fighter AND barbarian, either. Barb 1/Fighter 4 is a great start to most melee builds.

As much as I like those odds, the #1 rule in this campaign is no multi-classing which sucks.

And you're playing in it... why?

Because my friends are playing in it. Unless I can get special permission, then I can't multiclass, but then again alot of people who are creating new classes. I am being a traditional class and so are a few other new comers like me. I'm by the book and I like it

Multiclass is by the book its right there after the wizard

if you have acess to complete arcane and warrior get a skill full weapon and the arcane strike feat for a devilish melee bard

plz tell me you can prestige class if so take levels as sublime cord as soon as you can

finally pick up snowflake wardance from forst burn

now do a little jig and watch the gore fly

a Dwarven Barbarian. I wouldn't worry too much about being stuck with one class so long as you and your friends are having fun. A single class Barb can still be a valuable member of the party. How you build him will depend on what the rest of your party is like.

For instance, I took Track as my first Feat, and here's why. It was a party of three (BattleSorc, Druid and me). No Ranger. A large portion of our adventures were/are outside of cities. I gave up some damage dealing by not taking Power Attack but we've been able to avoid some ambushes and chase down foes who escaped because I was able to find tracks. I still think that's a fair trade off.

Who will your backup be? A tank, an archer, a wizard? If you're alone on the front lines, and have to be the tank, your weapons/armor may not be the same as if you were the skirmisher (Fast Movement :D ) fighting alongside two tanked Fighters.

My final advice, play what calls out to you. Be adaptable. Have fun.

Hmm...I'm liking what I'm hearing. I've been reading the Characters with Class articles about the three classes and comparing weaknesses and strengths.

Well, to decide what you will be, I have a sugestion.

Look at the group's characters.

If the team have no fighters, you should be one.

If the team have a fighter but no other combat oriented character, you should be a barbarian.

If the team have both a fighter and other combat oriented character, you should be a bard.

That's what me thinks.

I, personaly, like bards more than barbarians and fighters. Bards have a great role-playing and good enchament/illusion spells (my favorite schools of spells), and many skills.

So far I know that we have a ninja, an alchemist (created class), and a couple of dragoons (also a created class), there are a fwe others were I don't know what class they're gonna be. I think we are going to have a fighter.

well what level are you starting at? if its lvl1 then i would go with barbarian... its around lvl4 i would go with fighter... if i think around lvl10-13 go with bard

if you are a barbarian.. go for half-orc or halfling(i had an awesome time playing one)

if you are a fighter.. go for human, you get another feat so you are more skilled in combat and more skill points which can help with out of combat situations

with bard... its tough... can you chose subraces? go for umm gray elf... +2int +2cha -2con and if not go for gnome or halfling... perhaps half-elf

Umm...gray elf is +2 Int +2 Dex -2 Str -2 Con

from the SRD

Gray Elf
Taller and grander in physical appearance than others of their race, gray elves have a reputation for being aloof and arrogant (even by elven standards). They have either silver hair and amber eyes or pale golden hair and violet eyes. They prefer clothing of white, silver, yellow, or gold, with cloaks of deep blue or purple.
Gray Elf Traits (Ex): These traits are in addition to the high elf traits.
— +2 Intelligence, –2 Strength.

Your thinking of Drow, they get +2 Cha and Int

from the Kingdoms of Kalamar Players Guide page 3

Can someone give me the specs for a Dwarf and a Barbarian so I can complete my character sheet? I don't have the book, but I've borrowed it in the past from friends who do have it.

No multi-classing but you can create your own class?

I don't get it
Just create a class that IS a multi-class combination.

Thanks alot that really helps. The only thing I don't have is a list of feats and skill point costs.
