barbarian prestige class [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-05-06, 04:12 PM hey guys, a friend of mine had a question and asked me to post... in his words "Well i need a prestige barbarian class that is melee based, something that is powerful not beserker cause i have team mates and i don't want to kill them off, any suggestions?"

any help would be good and thanks guys. (our dm is pressing for us to get prestige classes so thats why hes searching for one he can get to in to from a Barbarian )

Barbarian does not NEED to dip a prestige class...the progression is mighty fine all on its own. Frenzied Berserker is great...of course, your reqs rule this out.

Champion of Gwynhevar or whatever From Exalted deeds is VERY nice...but you have to play an exalted character.

Other then that, I'd tell him to dip Fighter for 4 levels. Pick up Weapon Spec at 4th, then take Melee weapon mastery. Nets him +2/+4 with his favorite weapon, independent of rage. USe the other two feats to grab up things like Improved Critical, and/or a ranged feat like Precise Shot.

06-05-06, 04:49 PM the Bear Warrior,the Eye of Grumish(orc or half-orc only),the Rage Mage(if you can cast arcane spells), and the Ravager(CE or NE only) are some from the Complete Warrior(if you cant get frenzed berzerker) but i think fighter muti-classing for bonus feats is a good idea to especaly if you get the fighter 'weapon' feats

Improved Rage from Races of Stone is good.

Extra +2 to Strength and Con and a extra -2 to AC.

But, if you must go PrC. May I recommend the Primievil from Frostburn?

06-06-06, 12:42 PM Runescarred Berserker from Unapproachable East is one of the best Barb PrC's ever. You gain the ability to craft scroll-like runes on your flesh that you can later activate. It has great choices, such as True Strike, the Cure series, Heal, Polymorph, and many others.
