Ok I did a quick search and did not find the answer to my question so now I post to you, the reader, this query:

What if anything does the skill Knowledge (arcana) have to do with the barbarian class features?

I have a scrambled mess that was made of a character during my absence and one of the scrawls was about the aformentioned skill equalling zero and possibly a variant feature. I do not have all the source books so I am trying to cover all the bases.

Thanks for your help,

David

I am personally not aware of any barbarian variant class feature that requires Knowledge Arcana, that seems a bit silly. Was the variant written down. and how does your sheet get screwed up while you are away the DM changed it?

A "guest" got to use it. I'm thinking it was the DM's younger brother. I haven't had a chance to talk to the DM yet.

No specific variant was written on the sheet, just "veriant feeture".

Spell Sense ACF from Complete Mage requires 1 rank of Know(Arc), if it helps any to your question.

Yes. It replaces Trap Sense with a bonus on saves vs spells.

Yeah, I had no idea what the actual ability was called, but I was going to guess the Complete Mage was the source. They have similar ablilities for other classes. I kind of like the one where with a level of Fighter you can cast in light armor without ASF. Still, I think there are better ways to be able to cast in armor...
