| heridfel05-14-06, 02:47 PM | I was going to play a ranger when I realized that the only part of it that I really needed for my concept was wild empathy, and that I didn't like the combat styles, spellcasting, or animal companion (which makes up a good part of the class). When I looked at barbarian, it had nearly everything that I wanted except for good Reflex saves and wild empathy. Whirling Frenzy mostly fixes the Reflex saves, but what would you say would be fair to swap out in exchange for wild empathy? My thought was to delay uncanny dodge/improved uncanny dodge by a level and eliminate trap sense and its upgrades. Would this seem balanced to people? |
| Shadowfax705-14-06, 06:26 PM | Wild Empathy is worth a feat or 1 class ability at best. Eliminate Improved Uncanny Dodge or Fast Movement (if you want Wild Empathy at 1st level as a Ranger). Also, I am pretty sure that there is a feat that grants Wild Empathy (or something similar) somewhere . . . |
