If you're playing a barbarian who goes into rage (+4 con), and face a creature who does con damage, does the duration of your rage drop when you lose a con modifier?

Yes.

Yes.

Thank you.

If you please, could you explain why?

Actually, it might not. If you cast a spell, for example, with a duration of 1 hour per level, then suffer a negative level, it doesn't knock an hour off the duration; it's a 'free-standing effect', as it were. Since a Barbarian remains enraged even if he's knocked unconscious, I think the rage duration is fixed by whatever the Barbarian's Con is as soon as the rage begins (3+'raging Con' bonus).

I am inclined to agree with Salla here. I think the duration of the rage is a static number which is determined at the moment rage is activated. Afterwards, its duration will not change should your con score change.:)

So does it matter that it's an ex ability, but not a su or spell or does that matter at all?

Not to my knowledge; those designations only affect if it can be dispelled, countered, work in an anti-magic field and whatnot.

However, with your now decreased Con, you have less total hit points so when you rage finally does end, you are even more likely to die on the spot.
