05-26-05, 07:26 AM I want to ask a queistions of stacking Rage and Frenzie abilities...
Yes, they do stack, I know. But what else abilities of the same kind do? I mean that Berserk (they say that Deities and Demigods contains something about Berserk. I am not quite sure for I have no such a book) has similar ability which also can stack, and the Bear Warrior (CW) also gains some stacking advantages... Futhermore, Mountain Rage (RoS) has additional stacking effect... Who can offer more barbarian features that can improve her Str/Con? Any prestige classes are welcome. Just name the ability, the benefit, the class and the book. Thanks, regards.

By the rules, it would seem that the Rage class ability and the Rage spell stack. IMC they don't, since they're simply too similar for my tastes, but strictly speaking they're not the same source, nor are their bonuses equally named and/or of the same type (except for the Will save bonus, which is a morale bonus for both).

05-26-05, 09:56 AM The bear warriors ability replaces rage or frenzy, if you choose to use it,(ie turning into a bear). You gain new strength and con based on the bear form. This replaces rage, but might stack with frenzy.

However, an Eye of Gruumsh's rage goes from +4 to +8 at second level. So, 2 levels EoG and then Frenzied Berzerker gets you a +14 to strength when you rage and Frenzy. If you continue as a FB, your Frenzy goes to +10, which brings you total bonus to +18.

Could you clarify how rage stacking works? Does this mean a Barb's ability score would double?

For starters, Rage doesn't stack with itself. ;) But assuming you meant two rage-like abilities that do stack, you just add all the bonuses (and penalties, obviously). It's as simple as that. There's no multiplication whatsoever going on.

I am not sure why you feel you need more, but it could be argued that the Berserk's Battle Fury stacks, as Rage is not even mentioned in it's description. Due to the fact that it reads almost exactly like Frenzy, however, means it's an argument easily shot down.

Well actualy this is theorethical interest only. But I wander how much do they allow to boost a single character without taking a million's epic level.
Well, we have +16 Str and +6 con right there... Someone claimed that Rage spell will also stack, but this is not exactly I want...
As to the Battle Fury. Damn I have not the book! But "almost" is a key word. Folks, I want them stack! This gonna be insane boost up without applying any LA's with just gaining beneficial class abilities. Though I agree that templates do help a great deal.

As to the Bear Warrior... I can't find the entry which reads that his ability to become a bear actually replaces Rage ability. I was thinking that he acquires his bear form "while raging" i.e. when under effect of his Rage ability... Am I wrong?

05-26-05, 10:48 PM If you have the Bear Warrior prestige(from CW), when you use Rage you can decide to change into a bear for the duration of your rage. Should you do so, your strength and con bonus from rage are replaced by those listed for whatever type of bear your changing into. It is limited by your Bear Warrior, but at 10lvl BW, you turn into a Dire Bear and gain a +20 to strength. (I think).
