If a barbarian rages he gets 2 extra hitpoints per level he has. Why wouldnt it be for every class level of barbaian he has. It seems awkward that if you have multiple classes you can have the same bonus hit points as a full barbarian. Am i missing something?

Well, there's the fact that Greater Rage and Mighty Rage give higher bonuses. An 11th level Brb gets more extra HP than an 11th level Brb 1/anything else 10.

Well, think of this. If someone casts Bear's Endurance on you, do you only get bonus hit points from the levels of your highest class?

He gets 2 hp for every level he has because of the Con. Bonus.

+4 to Con = +2 Bonus

More Con you have the more HP you have. So it works with all your level's not just your Barbarian levels.

I think he realizes all that. He just wonders why a full Barbarian's rage isn't more powerful than the rage of a character who's only part barbarian. At least, that's the impression I get from his post.

Well, like I said, Rage doesn't scale with (barbarian) level until level 11, but after that you get Greater, Tireless and Mighty Rage. You need barbarian levels for those.

Also, keep in mind that the barbarian has the greatest hit dice - which makes (on average) 1 hp per level difference between him and the next strongest classes, paladins and fighters.

Also, higher level Barbarians can rage, and thus receive the bonus hp, more times per day.
