Skeemer 05-27-05, 01:04 AM	I'm still fairly new to Dungeons and Dragons (hardcore Star Wars d20 player and decided to try out a new system). After playing for a few months I've finally decided the class for me was Bard. It offers the magic abilities, some fight skills and nice skills that I like in a character. Now I have checked out Dirgesinger from the undead book and the Seeker of the Song from Complete Arcane and I was wondering if there were some other Bard classes that would be fun to play. Also what feats are useful for a bard. Thanks for the help...
HappyDragon 05-27-05, 01:34 AM	Check out Complete Adventurer It's got a couple Prestige Classes that work nicely with a Bard, depending on which way you want to focus more on. Starting off as a Bard and then taking the Dread Pirate PrC is nice, depending on the campaign being run that is. Other possibilities from the book include the Fochlucan Lyrist and the Virtuoso, (although the former requires alot of multi-classing). There are also a couple Bardic specific Feats in the book that may help out. Just remember the Bard is a good class in of itself, you don't need to start hooking into prestige classes unless there is some very specific reason. Enjoy :)

Yeah the more I look into the Bard class the more I like it (I just like the concept of the Seeker of the Song). I'm going into Dirgesinger because my brother in the game (and in real life) wants to be a necromancer and I agreed to help him with his undead army...

That will make an absolutely sick combo.....My hat off to you :tiphat: Just a reminder though, both the Dirgesinger and the Seeker of the Song are PrC's and you still need to start off as a Bard to qualify for it....Of course if you guys are starting the game as mid-level characters just ignore what I just reminded you of. :)

I can get into Dirgesinger by level 6, though I'm only taking 4 levels in it since the last ability seems pointless. Hey do you know whether or not I can use my Dirgesinger songs when using Combine Songs from Seeker of the Song.
HappyDragon 05-27-05, 03:03 AM	For combining the Songs I'd probably say yes, if you use the Combine Song from the Seeker class....but I do warn you right now straight book rulings are not my forte. If you want some really solid tweaking to completely optimize your character, I'd suggest going to the Character Optimization forum, those cats really know how to tighten your character based on what the books allow. Hope you can get your character worked out to where you want it to be. :)
