| durin121104-05-06, 10:51 AM | I am thinking about playing a Bard for my next Character. Toward that end I purchased Song and Silence guidebook for bards and rogues which was on sale. Later I realized that probably the book was 3.0 rather than 3.5. Is that going to be a problem in encorporating some of the stuff from the book to my next campaign. I was also wondering if there are any other resources for people who are thinking about playing a bard. I am new to D&D and currently am playing a fighter while I get used to the game. Playing a good bard looks like it will be a great deal more challenging. Any Advice |

A lot of what you see in there is going to show up again, in modified forms, in later supplements. I know for me, I really like Complete Arcane and Complete Adventurer for bard stuff. CA has a couple of cool PrCs for Bards: A dip into Mindbender is nice. Sublime Cord is very powerful, and Ive heard some good things about Seeker of the Song. Nice feats too. I took Obtain Familiar, more for flavor as I kinda hate pets, and Ive gotten far more use from it than I ever did with sorc/wiz characters. Instruments of the Bards, new magic items, are also worth looking at. CAdv is great for bards too. Nice spells, some PrCs, and nice bardic music feats. It also adds some new stuff regarding musical instruments and other skills you might like. |
