Have this idea for a rogue with spellcasting abilities and I know he will be taking 4 lvls in fighter (weapon specialization) and 1 in barbarian (more for flavor than abilities). I also want him to be able to cast spells more from having a knack at it than studying so that leaves out wizard. Bard seems good because it won't cut down on my skill progression, but the spells they get are pretty lame. Sorcerer is cool because who doesn't like fireball and lighting bolt. Any advice on how to proceed would be most appreciated. THANKS

Well, you could always look at beguiler in PHBII. It is sortof a sneaky illusionist that casts spont spells, just like the sorc. The build looks a little wide-angle though, the Barb level in ther is kinda confusing.

Well at one point in his life he had been torchered and the experience made him go a tad insane. One of the symtoms of his madness is uncontrollable raging.

If you just want maic for offense, then go sorccerer.
But if your rogue, is the type that like playing behid the scenes, whispering ideas in important peoples ears, I would go with bard.

Personally I like playing the cerebral rogue, but what your guy is doing is up to you.
