adamb0nd 09-16-07, 04:38 PM	Hey guys, lookin for a little character advice from some of the more machanically inclined here. I'm currently playing a gnome bard in my friends campaign. He started me at 5th level, and I'm a half session from leveling up. I desided to play this bard as magic heavy as possible. He's a follower of boccob, has brew potions and magic aptitude for feats, and use mostly scrolls and wands for primary offense. I was trying to find a PrC that fit a magic heavy rogue/bard. The only one I found was the Arcane trickster from the 3.5 DMG. At this point, If I really wanted the class, I would need to take 3 levels of rogue and two more of bard to hit the prereqs at 11th level! My biggest concern is that the class seems geared twards rog/wiz or sorc combos. The class has maintains their powerful spell progression, while giving some of the rogues bonuses. Is the class even worth picking up for a rog/bard? Would I be a better (more efficient, more powerful) character by sticking with straight multiclassing instead of PrC to a class that I might not benifit from due to the bards relitivley weak spell progression? As a side note, my DM does not penalize any race for multiclassing.
wizarddog 09-16-07, 04:53 PM	Look in complete scoundrel for some Prestige classes. I have a player going into the master of masks which gives him some cool abilities and increases his spell progression in Bard. :cool:
GawainBS 09-16-07, 05:09 PM	If you want a Spell-heavy bard, there's only one true option: Sublime Chord from Complete Arcane. ;)
