Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if you can start playing one song "that does not require concentration" then stop playing after one round, the next round begin to play a different song. Would the song that you were playing last round keep in effect for 5 rounds along with the effect of the new song effectively having two songs at the same time?

Character is a 8thlvl Bard/1st Dragon song lyrist
The two songs for this example I would like to use are.

First round begin playing.

Inspire Courage (Su)”which last for 5 rounds after a Bard stops playing”

Stop and then the second round begin playing

Song of Strength

Would both songs be in effect for the remainder of the 5 rounds first song?

Thank you for Reading. and the Help.

As far as I know, yes, the effects of bardic music stack as long as they don't provide the same type of bonus. For example, two songs that each provided a morale bonus to attack wouldn't stack, but if one provided a morale bonus, and another provided a competence bonus, then they would stack.

Actually in one campaign against a BBEG, a bard of mine cycled through Inspire Courage, Inspire Greatness, and Inspire Heroics each round, trying to maintain all of those effects on the entire party. When you have 20-something uses of bardic music, it's a valid tactic in desperate situations. And the battle proved that the bard is a great class, because without the bonus HD from Inspire Greatness, the BBEG's unholy word would have autokilled the entire party (yes, he was at that much of a higher level, partially to compensate for us being a party of six).

If one song gives a +2 to hit/damge and the second song gives a +4 to str would they stack?

both songs are morale based.

Is +4 Strength the exact same thing as +2 attack/damage? No, it's not. So yes, they stack.
