| doink121210-09-07, 09:46 AM | I am going to be making a Bard 7 / Sublime Chord 1 / Swiftblade 9 / Sublime 3 The Arcane casting is complicated for me to figure out so I will go on an talk and some can tell me if I am right. The Bard has 3rd lvl casting when he hits sublime chord. The Sublime Chord gets 4th and 5th lvl casting, in its first lvl. I use the 9 lvls of Swiftblade (+6 to arcane casting class) on my sublime chord getting me up to 7th sublime chord casting, or 8th lvl spells. What happens when I take my next lvl in Sublime Chord, I get Song of Arcane Power and 8th lvl casting? Do I get Song of Arcane power and Go up one lvl in casting so I = lvl 8 sublime chord? I just realized I probably should just find a different PrC, that add to casting class to finish up. Abjurant Champion would be a nice addition to my BAB. |

You gain BAB, save, and special (in this case, Song of Arcane Power) as 2nd lvl Sublime Chord. Your spell ability is equal to 2 (SC lvl) + 6 (from Swiftblade) = 8th lvl spellcasting (so you get the spell per day as 8th lvl sublime chord). |

You have to be at least 10th level before qualifying for the class, so you'll have to take some Swiftblade before entry. BTW, read what Sublime Chord does to caster level. This is *different* from what it does to spell progression (it has its own separate progression, which is the course of so many problems with the class. |
