09-16-04, 08:30 AM Could a bard take the siren PrC from savage species? They do have mind effecting sonic powers, and even if most aren't attacks, there's always haunting melody from Eberron.

being female?

being half-fish?

having a high swim?

09-17-04, 07:45 PM There are certain skill requirements, but the hard to get prerequisite is having a sonic mind effecting ability.

Bardic music
Once per day per bard level, a bard can use his song or poetics to produce magical effects on those around him .. ( os its sonic you can't use this against deaf people)

Fascinate (Sp)

..to cause one or more creatures to become fascinated with him..(so its mind affecting)

also this bardic music is a version of

Hypnotism
Enchantment (Compulsion) [Mind-Affecting]
Level: Brd 1, Sor/Wiz 1

So check with your DM and make a neat tale about the descendant(child /grandchild) of a siren who became bard and one day ...
