| Tokus08-22-05, 04:07 PM | What are some supplements I could use for developing a Bariaur Archer character. I am thinking fighter as a base class would be best, but I am also open to Rangers and Druids perhaps. Any direction to supplements with kits and/or prestige classes that fit this discription would be helpful. |
| DwarvinJedi08-22-05, 08:55 PM | Which Bariaur are you using, BoED, or Planar Handbook? |
| Tokus08-22-05, 08:59 PM | Well I am not very familiar with either at the moment, this would be my first foray in to 3.5. I suppose whichever would happen to be closest to the Planscape version. Though I read that the Planar Handbook wasn't all that usefull. |

I suppose whichever would happen to be closest to the Planescape version. Though I read that the Planar Handbook wasn't all that useful. the BoED one is slightly better(and higher hit dice and such), and it is "more in tune with the nature of the higher planes", whilst the Planar Handbook one is more designed for PC's. I think planewalker.com might have their own version Now for your actual question, Complete Warrior has a bunch of things for Archers. Complete Adventurer has a cool class the Scout which might work. I can't think of any others(BoED, being Book of Exalted Deeds, has some nifty things for good characters, and good outsiders , some overpowered, some underpowered, some just right.) |
| Tokus08-23-05, 03:07 AM | Well I want to play a wanderlusted Bariaur who just happens to specialize in archery. I am having a problem picking a class at the moment. I read the Planeswalker info on Bariaurs and based on what I have seen from most other sites they are all roughly the same, a stat mods being the main differences that people can't seem to agree upon. The classes I have narrowed to a Fighter, Ranger and a Scout. I have no idea what prestige class or kit might be usefull for this endeavor. I am not sure at which one has the most potential for archery. A Fighter seems a little generic for my taste but a Scout would seem a little overpowered as a Bariaur with all his movment bonuses maginifying hsi already stellar movement ability. A ranger just seems more focused on nature than he could be on archery. It just seemed like a unique idea for a PC, being that bariaur are generally seen as overpowering melee fighters. That and the fact that it is an interesting representation of my Zodiac sign (cusp of Sag and Cap) has gotten me extremely interested in this idea. I mainly want to choose the best archery class. |
| CaoSlayer08-23-05, 03:47 AM | the best advantage of the centaur-alike races it is that under DM permision they can use the calvary feats, so a bariaur archer could do things like run and full attack or do a spirited charge. |
