That should make him quite the gossip center. :) |
| Paladin_Hiroshi07-25-07, 04:44 PM | Lots of different routes you can go for a barkeep. 1) The bear. Fighter or warrior, or even barbarian. Keeps a big axe on the wall behind him, is gruff but friendly, high profession, spot, listen and gather info. 2) The woman. Fighter, ex adventurer with longsword. Same skills as the above, maybe some diplomacy or bluff too. 3) The civilian. Expert with lots of skills and ranks. Has a sap, but generally keeps 2 bigger blokes around to keep the peace. 4) The Bard. Talks a lot, uses many social skills and ranks. Can entertain as well as amuse. Will generally know everything, if you can persuade him to part with the information..... These are just some of the basics :P Hope it helps. |
| oracle7107-25-07, 04:46 PM | For starters, Profession (barkeep or bartender) and Knowledge (local). These are the must have skills for a barkeep. Perhaps Profession (brewer) or Craft (ale/beer/ or whatever). Speak language could help with the non-natives, and Diplomacy is never a bad choice. If he doesn't have a bouncer, Intimidate and Bluff would be good too. If he's a bit on the shady side, Appraise, Forgery and Sleight of Hand could work, as well. |
