BATTLEFIRE LORD Hit Die: d10 REQUIREMENTS To qualify to become a battlefire lord a character must fulfill all of the following requirements Base Attack Bonus: +7 Skills: survival 5 ranks, ride 5 ranks, spellcraft 3 ranks. Alignment: nonlawful or nongood CLASS SKILLS CLASS FEATURES All of the following are features of the Battlefire Lord prestige class: Weapon and armor proficiency: A battlefire lord is proficient with all simple weapons, all martial weapons, and all armors and shields (except tower shields). Channel Battlefire: A Battlefire Lords first and most well known ability is the power to channel a energy called battlefire. A unique energy, battlefire is created by tapping into the pain and destruction of war. Battlefire manifests as a bolt of blood red fire. Battlefire deals 1d6 points of damage at first level and increases by 1d6 every 2 levels thereafter. Half of the damage from battlefire is fire damage and half is pure destructive energy. Poison Use: at 2nd level a battlefire lord is no longer at risk of poisoning himself when applying poison to a blade. Resistance: At 5th level a battlefire lord gains resistance 5 to any type of energy (fire, cold, electricity, sonic, acid). Halo Of Battlefire: At 4th level a battlefire lords skill at channeling battlefire increases. He may now use his Channel Battlefire ability to create a wreath of battlefire around himself. The wreath lasts for 2 rounds per battlefire lord level. It 1d6 points of battlefire damage plus half of the battlefire lords battlefire damage. While this ability is active the battlefire lord cannot use his channel battlefire ability. While active any creature passing within 10 feet of the battlefire lord takes damage. Creatures attacking also take the damage. Warriors Fury: At 6th level a battlefire lord is able to call upon reserves of strength when in need. A battlefire lord who would be reduced to -1 hit points or less makes a will save (DC 20). if he succeeds he may continue fighting as normal, however he may not disengage and opponent who is at half normal hit points or less. He must continue making will saves each round to continue fighting. Each round the DC increases by 2. This ability allows a battlefire lord to continue fighting even if his hit points fall below -10. A failed save indicates that the battlefire lord falls unconscious or dies as normal. Battlefire specialization: At 7th level a battlefire lords skill at manipulating battlefire increases. He may use battlefire to duplicate any spell of 6th level or lower. Once selected it may not be changed except by a wish or miracle spell. Plague of War: At 8th level a battlefire lord gains the ability to channel the disease of war into the earth. Useable once per day this ability causes the ground in a ½ mile radius to become diseased. When activated, the battlefire lord chooses a disease (magical or mundane), the targeted ground becomes infected with the chosen disease. A creatures walking on the infected ground must make a fortitude save or become diseased. The ground remains diseased for one week. Charge Weapon: At 9th level a battlefire lord may charge his weapons with battlefire. A charged weapon remains charged until it is dropped. A charge weapon deals battle fire damage equal to a battlefire lord battlefire damage. Shape Battlefire: at 9th level a battlefire lord may shape his battlefire as desired. It may not be longer than 100 feet, wider than 30 feet, or higher then 20 feet. Battledoom: at 10th level a battlefire lord gains his final and most powerful ability. Battledoom opens a rift to the nonspace where all the violence and destruction of war rests. The rift releases the destruction in a titanic explosion expanding out to 600 feet. The explosion destroyed virtually everything in the immediate area. It deals 20d20 to everything in the area ignoring all damage reduction, resistance, hardness, and immunities. It cracks and shatters the ground creating and effect similar to the earthquake spell. Everything in the area is affected including the battlefire lord and any companions unfortunate enough to be in the area. This ability is useable once per month. The blast can be centered on any area the battlefire lord can see.
