| Mr. Styx02-21-05, 02:24 PM | In the middle of the woods you hunt for dinner, your family has been starving for the past few weeks. You come upon some kind of thin emaciated panther. Your ready you bow but stop, two long tentacles whip out from its back! It’s a displacer beast! You back up slowly only to be given away by a snapping twig! The beast turns and its blood red eyes stare into your own. Slowly it advances in your direction! Then suddenly it leaps at your throat! Abruptly the attack is stopped as a large shadow slams into the displacer beast! The snarling of two beasts echoes throughout the forest, and suddenly a man leaps out! Yelling in might as he attacks the displacer beast! All struggling ends, and a large dog with a smooth black coat and a mouth full of teeth stares at you. A Shadow Mastiff saved your life! The man whistles and the Shadow Mastiff leaps away into the night following the beast master. Out in the wilderness, many are taken by the beasts and monsters of the lands. But those who stand up to the creatures of the wilderness, and take control, are the few brave beast masters out in the world. Also called beast tamers, they are the first line of defense for the people of the villages and cities. Often working alone, and without the knowledge of the town’s people, they are honorable and trustworthy. They have the unique ability to control monsters and animals, manipulating them into service of the beast master. | Mr. Styx02-21-05, 02:25 PM | I have yet to add proficiencies! This is a work in progress and i'd like some suggestions. |
| Need_A_Life02-21-05, 03:27 PM | So what does it do? I've had a "beast master"-ish idea and I probably have it somewhere, it was called the "beast herder" and allowed him to train animals and asjust their attitude to helpful by making some special checks, he was relatively weak himself but by level 20 I had made it so he could have +80 rats (for flanking buddies) or a high-level (18-20) outsider (of course the checks would be astronomical, something like 60-80 Handle Animal to pull off, can't remember which). So what are you trying to accomplish? |
| Mr. Styx02-21-05, 03:44 PM | well it's not completely done soo it doesn't do a whole lot... yet! A beast master has the ability to go up to a monster and basically use a dominate monster spell on it (except on both monsters and animals) It's not done yet! keep this in mind! >.< |
