| thepuregamer10-20-06, 11:21 AM | Probably been asked thousands of times, but not within the last 10 pages of this forum. I am not sure how balanced or unbalanced beguilers are. They get so much stuff. Pros: 1.Ability to wear light armor. 2. Rogue trapfinding and skill list. 3. Int as their casting stat( synergizes well with skills per day). 4. Cloaked casting + surprise casting( neat mostly). 5. Silent and Still metamagic feats. 6. Sorc spells per day without suffering from sorc spells known. Cons: 1. Only does crowd control spells. Wizards: 1. Scribe scroll +4 bonus metamagic feats. 2. Familiar. 3. Much wider spell list. In my mind, beguiler doesn't seem too powerful. Anyone know if I am missing any details? |
| VonRichthofen10-20-06, 11:44 AM | Beguiler is very powerful in a humanoid-centered campaign. Against undead, constructs, plats et.al., you are a little bit on the wrong side of the pasture - so I guess it depends on your DM's plans - but in a generic D&D campaign the class should be okay. |
