I'm trying my hand at making a beguiler and I had a few issues. I am Human with one flaw from Unearthed Arcanna. I'm a level 6 Beguiler. (we started high for roleplay reasons)

1) Feat choices. I know that there is the CharOp boards, and I'll post there too, but this area seems (to me) to get more traffic. I'm already gettong Improved Feint, but I don't know about the rest.

2)I know that Prestidigitaion isn't on the spell list for them and it is a Universal spell, but for my advanced learning, I think that it should be elligible to choose. It works on a flavor reason because it makes something seem more than it is. Has anybody ever argued that Prestidigitaion should be illusion? And do you think that there is something I could say that help persuade my DM to allow it?

Thank you in advanced and before anyone asks, I have all core books, CWar, CDiv, CArc, PHB2, and Savage Species to choose from. So please stick to those.

Again, Thank You in advance!

Both Spell Focus Illusion and Enchantment are good choices. There is a feat, can't remember the name right now, that lets you add a spell to your spells known list. I've found that chain spell and other meta-magic feats that allow you to expand the number of targets you can affect with your spells are useful. Nothing quite like charming half a squad of Drow (it really happened).

Prestidigitation is definitely not illusion. I could still argue for it to be conjuration or transmutation, but illusion would be stretching it IMO. Still, I see no reason why a beguiler can't access it. It would break the game, so I would just give it to you without any qualms.:)

If you are talking about extra spell, that won't work with beguilers, since it cannot add spells not found on their spell list, and beguilers already know all spells from this list.

I recall someone from the CO boards recommending that you take 1 lv of mindbender ASAP, since this delays your advanced learning feature by 1 lv, thus allowing you to choose higher lv spells with it then you normally could when you typically get it.

With so many skill points, you could consider the able learner feat and invest in a broad spectrum of skills. If you were using FR material, you might contemplate shadow weave magic and 1 lv of the shadow adept prc, though I guess that is out of bounds to you.:)

SF illusion, SF ench, and then metamagic school focus(Illu) and (Ench). This will allow you to still/silent every single spell for no change in level if you so choose. A decidedly useful ability, as if you can get a hiding spot you're golden. But you don't have complete mage, which I think it the only source of MMSF. Hmm, maybe magical aptitude or skill focus UMD. The faster you boost UMD the better. Rounds out everything you can't do.
