I love asking other members questions about their favourite this and favourite that. Know I plan on asking one of the hardest questions that can be asked of a player; what is your favourite Class or PrC?

I am a huge fan of the rogue. It is probably the most versitile class in 3.5 and it was one of the first, that has evolved through a great deal of time. Plus, I find the rogue has the most additude to give.

If I had to chose a seperate class for combat ability I would have to say either the Ranger or the Duskblade, maybe the Crusader but unlikely. The Ranger has the capability of being a mix between a rogue and a fighter, but so much more.
The Duskblade, however, has the ability to deliver spells through it's weapons, dealing major league damage.

Fav Spell casting Class is either Warlock of Cleric, 'nough said.

I won't go into PrC, there are too many and they depend on the type of character being played.

This being said, what I think is entirely unimportant. What do you think? What is your favourite class/PrC and why?

My favorite class...that's a tough one...

I love the Ranger for the versatile role it could play.

Another class that's great I think is the Paladin. No one I play with likes LG characters, so it's always fun to play the charactr with conscience among a bunch of CN people.

I really like the Warmage, even though no one else seems to. They're just a fun idea.

Class: Scout because it's the perfect blend of rogue and ranger.

Hmm, let's see. It's not easy to choose one, so I'll do several.

Base classes:
- ranger: a good blend between stealth and combat, with decent abilities and features. It needs a bit of work - the animal companion should be bumped or changed, imo, as it doesn't work in some ranger builds - but overall quite solid.
- barbarian: simple, yet effective in what it's supposed to do: laying the smackdown.
- rogue: oldie but goodies. A great support class that you can have a lot of fun with; useful both into and out of combat.
- druid: good, class-related abilities, fairly versatile, and overall fun. Kinda overpowered, though.
- totemist: it has some of the cool shifting flavor of the druid, but a different mechanic. Weird, feral-esque, and damn fun.
- psychic warrior: this is my favourite, for several reasons. First, a very, very versatile warrior class you can take in any direction and give practically any flavor (ki? mind powers? just weird ToB-like battle insight? Knock yourself out). Second, it works equally well for 20 levels and as a 2-level dip. Third, it shows that you can be a great warrior without even full BAB.

Prestige classes:
- incantatrix: it's just damn good at what it does, and I like the concept of a mage who really knows how his spells work - and knows how to change them. Other people cast; you create a work of art.
- archmage: a simple but solid high-end caster class. Absolutely badass flavor - Archmage has such a nice ring to it ;).
- elocater: it's just nice to know that gravity happens to other people.
- nightsong enforcer: a good mix between a rogue and a warrior. Tough, reliable, and party-friendly PrC with low-ish prerequisites. Me likey.
- runescarred berserker: a barbarian PrC with magic - and yet the kind of magic that fits the flavor of a barbarian quite well. Plus, the idea of charging a mage with your own antimagic field is just that nice :D
- shou disciple: a martial artist PrC that actually helps you kick ass. You'd have thought there'd be more like it. Simple and useful.

Druid, because I can butcher that & do just about anything, or I can leave it alone and still do just about anything.

Runner up is Barbarian, because I can butcher it with variants and make it a really neat melee class. The only reason it isn't number one is the lack of spells. In the long run, that really hurts.

3rd place goes to Ranger. Base Ranger's okay. With some variants, it's a lot better. It's not a bad scout class.

My favorite prestige class is Chameleon. It's a fun little jack of all trades type of class.

Runner up is Jade Phoenix Mage, which can be summed up with the word "Jihad!", followed by then an explosion. It's the terrorist prestige class of D&D.

3rd place goes to Abjurant Champion. It's the best gish prestige class out there.

Favorite base class(es):
1) Duskblade: Top of my list. You don't need to prestige to be good
2) Sorcerer: First class I ever played and still holds a place in my mind
3) Bard: Fun, easy to use and get used to D&D with
4) Druid: I never much liked this class until now. (mostly never played one)
5) Cleric: Who wouldn't?
6) Spelltheif: Number 6 for the whole 20 levels, but would be 2nd place for 1 lvl dip and Master Spelltheif

Favorite Prestige class(es):
1) Chameleon: Just found this class about 3 months ago and it has stuck with me
2) Fist of the Forest: Ditto (see above).
3) Umbril Disciple: (Magic of the Incarnum) Oh yeah. No new mechanics to learn, very similar to Psionics, gives Hide in Plain Sight (using 2 Essentia) and sneak attack progression.
4) Sublime Chord: My favorite excellerated caster Prc
5) Ur-Priest: My second favorite excellerated caster PrC
6) True Necromancer: I know not a lot of people like this PrC, but they can bugger off (No, I am not British, I just like that saying).

There are many more... But those are my favorites

The characters I tend to make are definitely influenced by kung fu and action movies and I absolutely love any class that is so versatile that you can make several versions that are distinct in what they do and in flavor. So I will have to say that for these reasons my favorite classes are the Tome of Battle base classes and the Psychic Warrior. You don't even need prestige classes for those classes since they already come with so many options.

Got to give some love to them Rogues! My favorite class is a Rogue. I just love playin' the sneaky class or the party face.

I also like the Warblade and Swordsage and I like to play the occasional Illusionist or general wizard.

Pretty much any spontaneous caster is my favorite class.

Also recently I've really gotten into playing a Crusader.

Favorite class: Ranger, warblade, and barbarian, and the Psychic warrior. Not a big fan of spellcasting but I have to say I like the Warlock the best.

PrC: hm, bloodstorm blade, Pyrokineticist, Reaping mauler.

Base Classes:
Fighter: Because I can make almost any type of non-magic warrior I can think of...and becuase it requires some intelligence.

Wizard: Usually specialize (without actually specializing) in Necromancy, so I can take over the my own little pocket-plane and become a Planar Crimelord...also becuase of the intelligence required.

Savant: THE ULITMATE JACK-OF-TRADES!!!

Prestige Classes

Blade Dancer: Gotta admit my all-time favorite prestige class.

Warrior of Darkness: Cool powers, nice prerequisties and great name.

Although its Mongoose Publishing, the "Paragon" from Quintessential Samurai is another of my top-favorites.

I absolutely love playing a Beguiler, manipulating minds for the forces of good. Great spontaneous spellcasting list, sweet class abilities, and a delectable flavor... what's not to like?

I have a few classes I favor the most.

Druids are my all time fav, my first character was a druid. Druids are very versitile, they have so many optiond for how to handle any situation. I previously put a druid in a ravenloft campaign it was very interesting. Our wizard had gained this crown which gave her control over a large category vampiric wolf. Being a druid I wanted to kill it and two of the other three in the group didn't want to kill it. I used a spell called "Eye of the hurricane". My druid died, but the other players were inpressed.

My other favorite class to play is the sorcerer. They can be almost as versitile as a druid. espcially if you put thought behind them.

I think my most favorite PrC has to be "Initiate of the sevenfold veil". I doubt I would ever play one, but if I did I have yet to meet a DM that will let me play one due to the extreme power they have.

My other two favorite PrCs are bothe for the druid, one being "Beastmaster" just because the druid gains the control of 4 animal companions by the time the "Beastmaster" hits 10th level. The other would be "Master of many forms". The reason for this one, is the ability to become a gargantuan dragon or elemental just seems like alot of fun.

- runescarred berserker: a barbarian PrC with magic - and yet the kind of magic that fits the flavor of a barbarian quite well. Plus, the idea of charging a mage with your own antimagic field is just that nice :D

What book is the Runescarred Beserker in?

My favorite class is Barbarian. It would easily be Paladin, except that taking tis levels past 5 just becomes a pain in the butt. I'm learning to love Crusader, but my heart belongs to Barbarian.

My favorite PrC is probably Forsaken. Although I don't like the whole "dependancy on magic items" bit that it has, otherwise, the abilities are pretty solid. VoP Forsaken? Big Stretch, but I like it. :D

Don't know what a PrC is so I'll reply to the fav classes part of the question.

Favorite Class for first line fighting: Paladin, hands down. Can't argue with a warrior who buffs himself without even trying and on top can deal out a little extra damage here and a heal friends a little extra there.

Spell Casting Class: Wizard or Cleric. Like the domain abilities of the cleric but the variety of arcane spells that come to the wizard.

Following up next in the running: Duskblade, Fighter, and well I actually haven't played anyone else, I'm usualy the DM back at home.

Unapproachable East. It has some pretty good content, particularly as far as PrCs are concerned.

Favorite base classes: Ranger (full BAB + skills = yes please), Warlock (excellent mechanic), Dragon Shaman (I like the whole idea of auras), Factotum (finally, a true jack-of-all-trades), and Warblade (an Int/Dex based fighter that actually WORKS?). Also, the Human Paragon, because humans are awesome.

Favorite prestige classes: Tattooed Monk (I just like the concept), Spellsword (my favorite gish class, until Abj Champ showed up), Green Star Adept and Dragon Disciple (I like transformationals; I just wished they worked better), Suel Arcanamach (cool concept), Unseen Seer (full cast + skills = sweet), Sanctified One (just wish they were full-cast, or at least 3/5), Uncanny Trickster (I love advancing all my class features + 8 skill pts), and Chameleon (possibly my all time favorite PrC...you can do so much with it).

I am having a ball with the kensai for one major reason:

To build an enchanted weapon merely takes 24 hours of meditation and spending some XPs instead of gold. Within a few levels you can have a very potent weapson and it frees your gold to spend on other items like armor or ability score enhancements.

You might fall behind a level because of the XPs you have to spend, but you can get that back without all that much difficulty.

As for base classes, fighters and paladins have been my favorite. I am not much into spellcasters so I don't have much experience in those.

I like spellcasting and skillmonkey classes the most. The Wizard, but the Psion, too, is a good one. I also like the Rogue a lot. Pick Lock, Trapfinding, and Skillfulness!

If I want to go for outright melee: BARBARIAN! RAAAAGGGEEE!!!

Favorite core:

1) Druid: No contest there. (I'm a bit of a nature freak myself :) )
2) Ranger: My natural number 2 choice.
3) Fighter: I like to play the intelligent types, and go for expertise, disarm, and the like...

Favorite PrC: The Planar Champion.
Described on page 29 of MotP (a very underrated book IMHO).

Base classes; Cleric and Crusader. I love playing the zealot, but the paladin never caught my heart.

PrC; Bear warrior. You turn into a godless killing machine. How cool is that?

Ranger: My all time fave. You get a great blend of abilities and there are a lot of great ways to take it in the direction you want to go. It also gets a little bit of favoritism from me because it my actuall profession is (well soon will be) Ranger (of the park variety).
Rogue and Fighter: I have an equal love for these two because they are the most customizable in the game. No two ever look the same.
Wizard: I like blowing things up, but still having the option to learn a nearly useless spell that only gets used ocasionaly.
Factotum: One of the few class outside of the core that I really like. It is the ultimate jack-of-all-trades.
Warlock: I think this is what the Sorcerer was meant to be. Lots o' blasting and cool powers plus a dark and mysterious background.

I don't care for a lot of PHII or Complete classes because they are just a twist on the core classes (scout= Ranger or Rogue) or fit more as a prestige class (Duskblade and Dragon Shaman). Not to say that I would never play them or don't think they are fun, I just think they are getting a lot more specialized than the genericness of the core classes.

For base classes, I like sorcerers and wizards. What can I say, I like playing arcane spellcasters ;) Sorcs and wizards are interesting to play in quite different ways due to their different spellcasting mechanics, and I find both of them fun.

For prestige classes, my favorites are probably Shadowcraft Mage and Dervish: they share some nice design features. They both have interesting and unique mechanics that you can't get from base classes, prerequisites that make sense for the archetype and strongly encourage you to focus on the PrC's strength, are non-trivial to qualify for and yet rapidly pay off the investment once you enter the class, and they give something to look forward to at every level and have excellent capstone abilities.

Favorite base classes: Cleric, Paladin, Crusader, Binder, Swordsage, and Rogue
Favorite Prestige Classes: Shadowbane Inquisitor, Grey Guard, Fist of Raziel, Ruby Knight Vindicator, Shadowbane Stalker

I like to mix law and good with a good, healthy dose of dangerous and sneaky.

Bard: Just because they can do just about anything and out cast and last the factotum. My all time favorite

Martial Adepts: Jedi before the techno.

Wizards: Changing the cosmos with such class.:D

Fav Prc....

Rage mage: But why ,oh why, did they have to make it fail on such a epic scale?

In no particular order...

Fighter - Most versatile for my purposes in creating a unique character, mechanically.

Rogue - Although the vast range of skills lend to many very different kinds of rogues, the central class feature - Sneak Attack - adds up to one core element of this class: DECEPTION! Which I find very appealing. :)

Cleric - Much variety possible with so many domains. Not as flashy as Wizards but I enjoy the melee/spell mix. I'm more into making a bit of target of myself rather than healing every other round.

Special Mention...

Marshall - I know few like this class but I played one for some time and had alot of fun with it. I like teamwork and its only not fun if you need to be the center of attention in combat. With my insane mods of charisma based skills I blew everyone out of the water in becoming the center of attention out of combat.

Base Class:
Rogue, just sneaking around, hiding, sneak Attacking and being good in nearly every skill.

Beguiler and Bard are pretty awesome too.

PrC:
Radiant servant of pelor: I've never come to play one up till today, but i like the idea of the sickeningly good undead destroyer

dread Commando: greatly improves the survivability sneaky rogues.

Thayan Gladiator( is he even 3.5?): Who needs Weapons if he has these Natural weapons?

Warhulk: Must.Destroy.All.Enemies!
