| Gunther05-19-04, 06:49 PM | I'm wanting to create a halfling character who’s skills are focused on being a world class treasure hunter. Technically I know all adventurers are in a way, but I'm talking about a rogue like halfling who is a master at spelunking, rare artifacts, traps, locks, getting in and out of old monster invested treasure troves etc.. Is this best done by careful skill/feat selection as a straight rogue or would other combo's improve on this idea? What about a rogue/shadowdancer for instance? |
| Tony Vargas05-19-04, 06:56 PM | Rogue is definitely the best start. I recently created a 'dungeoneer' for a one-shot game, and used Rogue/Ranger. The Ranger levels gave me track, and ranks in Knowledge: Dungeoneering and Survival. The FEB:Vermin came up, too, amusingly enough. Knowledge is the one thing your treasure-hunter may want that the Rogue doesn't give him enough of. Since knowing about legendary treasure troves would pesumably be very in-character, some Bard levels might not be completely unwarranted. |
