| Trusk09-01-05, 06:28 PM | barbarian? |
| Ioreck09-01-05, 06:30 PM | umm.... frenzied berserker? |
| Ront Iron-Roar09-01-05, 07:55 PM | Well, what kind of Berserker you talking about here? Savage brute leaping from tree with greatsword? Or the guy from the army that jumps over the wall first and cuts a bloody swath with his weapons? |
| Nephlite09-01-05, 08:30 PM | Do you mean Base class or Prc? Battlerager is my choice, I am biased because I made it but eh. Barbarians are cool because Rage works better than Enrage for power attack (enrage adds a hit/damage bonus not a Str bonus, but it affects ranged and melee so I like it better). Only trouble is to balance Battlerager you get exhaused not fatigued after enrage. (later reduced to fatigued) |

The barbarian works perfectly as a controlled berserker - he chooses when to rage and can tell friend from foe, that is a legit sort, though not the most common or notorious. The frenzied berserker is the classic (and probably best known) version: the uncontrolled berserker - can sometime go berserk on purposes, but also does so without meaning to, and can't tell friend from foe, the classic 'red killing haze.' The mythical berserker could assume the form of an animal, like a bear - the bear warrior is obviously drawn from that legend, and fits it well enough. That's actually some pretty darn specific classes there. Anyone wanting to play a berserker should not have trouble getting it right. |
