| Zakter06-01-04, 08:09 AM | I am thinking about doing a mystic theurge type character in the Living greyhawk setting. here is what you have to work with. 28 point buy system Human Follower of Celestian. Thanks! |
| Salla06-01-04, 08:44 AM | Well, lessee here now ... As far as class layout goes, I suggest: Cleric 7/Wizard 3/Mystic Theurge 10. Wis 14 (6pts, 22 left -- All stat boosts for level go here) Int 16 (10pts, 12 left) -- High enough for your 6th level spells. Cha 8 (0pts. Hurts the Turning, but with all the spells at your disposal, forget the turning undead and just incinerate them) Str 8 (0pts. Get Weapon Finesse for Touch Spells.) Con 14 (6pts) Dex 14 (6pts) Sorry for putting the stats out of order, I was doing the math oddly in my head. I don't know Celestian's domains, so I can't say much there. |
| Zakter06-01-04, 03:13 PM | What about feats? |
| Thermanshs06-01-04, 03:44 PM | metamagic, some more metamagic and the menu ends with some item creation feats(ring and staff at best) |
| CrimsonRyoko06-02-04, 02:04 AM | Best is really a matter of opinion. I value the spur of the moment magic of Innates, so a Sorcerer/Mystic(or Favored Soul)/MT is my fav. If you wanna go for the "I own every spell you can dream of" caster then go a neutral cleric with no diety, and play a universal wiz, then you can potentially cast any spell there is, but you still have to prepare. Then there is the inbetween where you have one side be prepared, one be inate. Works best if you go Sorcerer/Cleric, chances are you will use cleric 95% of the time for healing, and you never know what battle power you will need, so go for variables in your sorcerer spells, but you can take all damage ones since cleric gives you 70% of the wiz buffs/utilities. Mystic/Wizard can be interesting, but i dunno how much more useful it would be to be able to spontaneously heal then to spontaenously kill. NEVER played a druid mix so i have no input there, but i can see where it would be very similar to a cleric. Skills: Go for whatever visions you have, but max Religion/Nature, and Arcana so you can have epic spells eventually, and spellcraft too, concentration doesnt hurt. Attributes - Go for high Arcana stats, since most of your cleric spells will prolly be used for healing if you play like i do, its just easier to kill with arcana, so you can live with a lower divine based attribute. Thou with Sorc/FS you use cha for spells/day. Feats - PRACTICED SPELLCASTER (complete divine) [Take for both classes]: +4 caster level for SR and Variables. Spell Penetration - Lets you be on par and above for most of the time, equalling other casters. Spellcasting Prodigy[Take for both classes]: Bonus spells are worth it alot at lower caster levels which you will be in for a while with any build here. And it never hurts to have a bonus that stacks with everything else out there. Spell Focus/Spell Thematics/Metamagics/Item Creations - all of these are to be taken on a build by build basis, but the top 3 are the most worthy feats. Remember thou, this is based off of going ClassA/ClassB/Mystic Theurge10/Maybe ClassC - Not maxing out to having 9 PrC's and focusing on a single type of casting, so you might have a tighter skill/feat budgett depedning on what build you have. Hope it helps, i love this class alot if you couldnt tell. |
