Best class that compliments a Cleric Archer/Healer? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Im planning on multi-classing my Healer/Archer Style Cleric. But I'm having trouble figuring out which other class best compliments the cleric with one or two levels?

Im figuring either fighter or ranger. As this cleric is more of a support type charactor, I want to stay back and shoot arrows at foes and heal my comrads.

My selected feats for upto level 3 will be:
Point Blank
Precise Shot
Agmented Healing

Im favoring ranger right now. As with the first level I get track (which helps, as we rarely get a ranger to track stuff). With a 2nd level taken later I can get Archer style of combat. But the cons are that I can't use it in medium armor.(unless I buy some expensive mithril kind). I also get a boat load of skills to boot.

The fighter gives me accsses to the combat feats. But I lose track.

Any other ideas? I don't know enough prestige classes to comment any further.

Fighter. Well just outta curiosity, what books do you have? There might be another class in one of those books. Also what race is your Cleric? Just whatever you do dont choose a Favored Soul. Twin Cousin to the Cleric. Notta good mix. A ninja could be useful.

I'd recommend Fighter, mainly because you don't have silly restrictions to your feat(s), and it's much easier to explain. Your cleric wanted to beef up his/her fighting ability at the expense of divine training (unless your cleric has some naturalistic domain, like Animal...then it might not be such a stretch).

The cleric is a Living greyhawk. But I felt this forum was more approate for this kind of discussion. So ninja is out of the discussion.

He is currently a cleric of Mayaheine. With the War and Good domains.

I only own the Complete Divine and PHB right now, but I'm slowly picking up more books.
