| ninthlife07-24-07, 07:01 AM | I'd like to build a pg who can overwork the Necrotic Cyst (Libris Mortis) spell. I think a simple cleric would be the best one to do such a thing cause of her ability to controll undead (so that he could use a Skulking Cyst -see Liber Mortis page 120- to create new ones ) and her full level class-caster (I'm showing off my terrible lack of fantasy :weep: ). True Necromancer's got some really nice skill up to Cysts but wastes lotta caster levels and comes to be really kinda weak compared to other classes of the same level. Mage and Sorcerer can't Turn nor Rebook undead (and I haven't found a good arcane caster able to do that even searching in the Prestige Classes). Which is the best class to work with Necrotic Cyst for you? |
| StevenO07-24-07, 08:39 PM | It doesn't fit in with any evil plans for the Necrotic Cyst but the Sacred Exorcist is available to arcane casters who can meet its requirements. This is one way to gain turn undead. |
| ninthlife07-25-07, 06:18 AM | Thank you,I thought about it but I need an evil PG! Do you think that is possible to rebalance di exorcist and make it evil? |
| AnonymousInternets07-25-07, 07:22 AM | Death Master, from the Dragon Magazine Compendium. Fits very nicely (I've done it myself). |
| ninthlife07-25-07, 09:27 AM | Oh yes! That's just what I was lookin' for! Unluckily it's still an unofficial prestige class and we don't wanna use'em! I'm gonna seek something else! Thank you anyway |
| AnonymousInternets07-25-07, 10:03 AM | It has the official D&D seal and is distributed by Wizards. I don't know how much more official you could get... Also, it's a base class. |
| ninthlife07-25-07, 10:26 AM | Really? Oh,that's great! Think I was reading smth wrong! Now I will start an epic adventure (24th-26th) to find the Dragon Magazine Compendium. Thanks a lot! ;) |
| AnonymousInternets07-25-07, 11:15 AM | Well, I'd only recommend it if your campaign's suited for undead minions, as it will be almost your entire focus. You'll be getting almost solely necromancy spells, an undead companion, rebuke/control undead, abilities related to minions, and--at 20--Lichdom. However, if that's what you're aiming for, it's totally perfect. I loved my Necrotic Death Master character. =] You'll shine when you get Necrotic Tumor. ;] |
| ninthlife07-25-07, 06:55 PM | Well,I found it! Looks so funny! Thanks adventurer, Nerull will be rewarding you giving ya a Small zombie who can clear your room up every Sunday morning :) 1 last thing... death master's got a closed spell list and can't prepare any other one! Does the mother cyst feat give you the chance to cast all the spell dealing with it?  |
| AnonymousInternets07-26-07, 01:45 PM | Haha. No problem. I believe it works. Mother Cyst only requires Caster Level 1 and Know (religion) 2. If you qualify, you get the spells. Even if it's somehow not supposed to be in the list, most reasonable DM's will also let you add undead-related spells from other sources (like Spell Compendium) to your list, and a good chunck will let you add most Necromancy (Evil) spells if you ask. |
